A woman was transported to the hospital Thursday morning after a collision on the Danville bypass. About 10 a.m., Danville police responded to a possible injury collision at the intersection of Lebanon Road and the bypass. Police say Charissa Gosser, 23, of Danville was driving a 2007 Mitsubishi Galant south on the bypass when she spilled a drink and reached down. When she looked back up, she realized she was going through a red light, said Capt. James Monroe. At that time, a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Shirley Engle, 76, of Danville, followed a green light in the turning lane for Lebanon Road and the two vehicles collided. Both vehicles were not drivable, Monroe said, and Gosser was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for possible injuries.

Danville police are looking for a man who may have fired a bullet that went through the window of a neighboring apartment. Capt. James Monroe said police were called to a unit at 634 Ben Ali Drive about 11 p.m. Thursday. The man living in the apartment told police he was watching TV when his window shattered and he heard the sound of a gunshot. While investigating, police found a bullet in the wall of the apartment. They determined the angle from which the shot was fired and found a bullet hole in the window of an apartment at 614 Ben Ali. After talking to neighbors, it was determined that the man living in the apartment where the shot was fired was Paul Latta, 46. Monroe said police contacted the phone company to try to use GPS to locate Latta and later entered the apartment, but he was not home.

A Junction City teenager sought by police turned herself in to authorities Monday night and was charged with attempted murder. The girl, 17, was taken to a juvenile detention center in Elizabethtown after her mother called police and arranged for officers to pick up her daughter. The girl surrendered without incident, said Danville Police Capt. James Monroe. The charge stems from a Sunday incident when the girl allegedly used her car to strike and pin another juvenile female against a vehicle in the parking lot of Danville Manor shopping center before driving away.
