Danville blood drive set for Saturday The Kentucky Blood Center will have a blood drive noon-5:30 p.m. Saturday on the KBC Bloodmobile at Walmart in Danville. Blood donors may call 1-800-775-2522 or visit www.kybloodcenter.org for blood drive and donor center details. Blood donors must be 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and meet additional requirements. Parental permission slips can be found on the Kentucky Blood Center Web site.

Driver's license office recognized Jessamine County's Driver's License office, led by Circuit Court Clerk Doug Fain, was presented a giant tin of gourmet popcorn by the Kentucky Circuit Court Clerks Trust For Life for above average participation in the state's organ donor program during April. "Only 45 offices are being sent popcorn in appreciation for collecting a $1 donation from more than 50 percent of their customers in April," said Executive Director Berkeley Scott.

UK vs. UofL Blood Feud What color do you bleed? That's the question being asked of fans for the University of Kentucky Wildcats and University of Louisville Cardinals. Fans and alumni from across the Commonwealth can vote for their favorite team through blood donations. Led by each university's alumni association, the annual Battle of the Bluegrass Blood Donor Challenge calls for anyone donating blood to the Kentucky Blood Center Aug. 4 ? Aug. 28 to "vote" for their favorite team.

Bro. Gary and Lucille King were back with us during early worship Sunday morning. He brought the message during Bro. Chris' absence. Bro. Gary has been the Director of Missions for Lincoln County since June. Bro. Roy Mullins brought the message for the 11:00 service. There were 118 in attendance for Sunday morning and 49 in discipleship training on Sunday night. Mike Miller, who works with Jeff Godbey at Phillips Lighting, spoke to the church Sunday night. He gave his very moving testimony.

BLOOD DRIVE JUNE 9 A blood drive has been scheduled at the Winchester Wal-Mart on Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Kentucky Blood Center Bloodmobile. The need for blood is great, according to the KBC, which noted that every three seconds, someone in Kentucky needs a blood transfusion. To meet the requirements for blood donation, the donor must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Donating takes less than an hour and can be done again 56 days later.
