BURGIN - A composite sketch of one of the men suspected of robbing Farmers National Bank in Burgin has been released by Kentucky State Police. The armed robbery of the Main Street branch occurred about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the suspects dropping about $2,000 in $100 and $20 bills as they fled on foot to a waiting car. HUSTONVILLE - A head-on collision on U.S. 127 between Hustonville and Moreland in Lincoln County claimed the lives of three Casey County residents today, Kentucky State Police said. The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin. The accident occurred about 2:30 p.m. and traffic was rerouted until shortly after 5 p.m. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined, but apparently a gray, southbound Toyota Camry went across the center line and struck a white sport utility vehicle head on. Police said three occupants of the Camry were pronounced dead at the scene.

A Paint Lick teenager was airlifted to a Lexington hospital Friday afternoon after he rode his bicycle into a Garrard County school bus. Charlie Snapp, 15, was riding his bicycle from Good Hope Road onto Walker Pike when the collision occurred about 4:30 p.m., Kentucky State Police said. Snapp was listed in stable condition Saturday afternoon at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Police said the bus, driven by Robert Hammons, 63, was traveling west on Walker Pike.

Kentucky State Police arrested a man on a Boyle County farm after he fled during a traffic stop in Lincoln County Saturday. The suspect was not carrying any official identification at the time of his arrest. Trooper Chris Damron pulled the suspect over for driving erratically on U.S. 150 in Lincoln County. The suspect fled when Damron exited his vehicle. He was followed approximately two miles into Boyle County, before turning into the driveway at 4391 Stanford Road. Damron subdued the suspect after a foot pursuit and a brief physical altercation.

Waynesburg man critical after crash A Waynesburg man remained in critical condition Saturday after a Thanksgiving night collision closed U.S. 27 in Lincoln County for approximately three hours . James Robinson, 31, was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center following the accident, which occurred about 11:15 p.m. Thursday. According to Kentucky State Police, Robinson was traveling south on U.S. 27 when his Nissan pickup crossed the center line about four miles north of Waynesburg and struck a Chevy truck driven by Michael Carpenter, 35, of Lancaster.

LANCASTER - The man who was fatally shot Saturday in Garrard County by a state trooper may be identified by a family member today. Trooper Chris Lanham with the Kentucky State Police said a brother is on his way from Phoenix, Ariz. "It just depends on how long it takes him to get here before we can release the information after we get a positive identification," Lanham said. State police say the suspect brandished a knife and tried to stab Trooper Sonny Dunaway outside a Garrard County residence.

STANFORD - A Lincoln County man remains hospitalized today in Lexington after being shot by another man Monday night, Kentucky State Police said. Jason Smith, 29, of Stanford, was in serious but stable condition at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center following the shooting, which occurred about 9:20 p.m. at a location on Ky. 590, police said. Smith reported the shooting to KSP himself and was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center by private vehicle before being transferred to the UK hospital, police said.

CRAB ORCHARD - A Eubank woman was killed Friday morning after she lost control of her vehicle on Ky. 39 and crashed into a tree, according to reports from Kentucky State Police. Phyllis M. Cromer, 66, was transported to Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, where she later died from multiple injuries, police said. According to a press release from KSP, Cromer was traveling north on Ky. 39 at 7:20 a.m., about six miles south of Crab Orchard. Police suspect she lost control of her 1992 Chevrolet van while going around a curve and ran off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

RICHMOND - A Danville school bus slid off the roadway when commuting to an academic meet in Richmond early Saturday due to slick roads after the morning snowfall. Kentucky State Police responded to the accident around 8 a.m. and say the bus landed in the ditch line while eastbound on KY 1295, a mile outside of Garrard County. Police said the driver, Thomas Tye, 51, of Danville, lost control of the bus while driving up a steep hill at a low speed. There were no injuries reported.

PAINT LICK - Kentucky State Police say a Paint Lick man is in critical condition after he was thrown from his motorcycle around 6 p.m. Wednesday. James Runyon, 30, was operating a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Ky. 52, just over the Garrard County line in Madison County, at a high rate of speed, police say. According to the police report, Runyon had just passed several vehicles in a no passing zone, lost control of the motorcycle and went into a ditch line, flipping several times.
