According to Assistant Police Chief Tony Gray, an employee of Kmart in Danville reported at 4:45 p.m. Monday that several iPods and global positioning system units were missing from the store. The items stolen included four black iPod Nanos 8 GB, $199.99 each; three silver iPod Nanos 8 GB, $199.99 each; Roadmate 1200 GPS, $199.99; and a Nextar Navigation GPS, $179.99. The investigation is ongoing.

A brown Pontiac Bonneville, Madison County plates stuck above the missing back bumper, was the central point of a mobile methamphetamine lab scare Tuesday in the heart of Kmart's parking lot. The lot was cleared by police and a wide parameter held for several hours as firefighters in yellow biohazard suits approached the suspected lab and looked inside the vehicle's open windows. A large plastic container, believed to be potentially deadly fertilizer needed in the manufacturing of meth, could be seen sitting on the floorboard behind the cracked driver's seat, but a working lab was not found and the lot reopened soon after.

Charged - Dana M. Mook, 37, of Louisville, was charged Tuesday with theft by unlawful taking. Report - At 4:49 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to Kmart concerning a suspected shoplifter. Dana M. Mook was charged with theft by unlawful taking.

WINCHESTER POLICE Report - At 1: 41 p.m. Friday, employees at Kmart reported a shoplifting complaint. Tina Fields, 23 of Stanton, was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking. The property included clothes, mints and a temperature tester. CLARK COUNTY FIRE - Firefighters were called to a grass fire at 3525 Wades Mill Road at 6:18 p.m. Friday, but they were canceled shortly afterward.

Shetrone-Cornett Kaylie Nicole Shetrone and Brent Austin Cornett were married May 29 in Boyle County. The couple made a honeymoon trip to the beach. The bride is the daughter of Johnny and Lori Shetrone of Lexington. She is an employee of Kmart in Danville. The groom is the son of Sonny and Carol Cornett of Parksville. He is an employee of Wal-Mart in Harrodsburg. They live in Parksville.

Man killed in Washington crash SPRINGFIELD - A Washington County man died Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash on Mayes Creek Road, six miles north of here, according to a report by Trooper Les Moses. Jeffrey D. Yates, 38, of Springfield, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County coroner. Yates was driving west when his car ran off the shoulder of the road and struck a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to Moses. Cars collide near Kmart Three people were injured Tuesday night when two cars collided on the Danville Bypass in front of Kmart, Danville police said.

WINCHESTER POLICE Reports - At 3:45 p.m. Friday, Samanta Charles of 137 Cook Ave. reported that someone took a digital camera from her vehicle within the last couple weeks. - At 3:08 p.m. Friday, employees at Kmart reported having a suspected shoplifter in custody who tried to leave the store without paying for a watch and earrings worth $25.98. Tim A. Barker of Lexington was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking. CLARK COUNTY FIRE - At approximately 6 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Mount Sterling Road.

Two people were arrested on robbery charges Thursday after authorities were called to Kmart on the bypass to check out a shoplifting complaint. Lisa Rose, 45, and Steve Berry, 50, both of 79 Cemetery St., Junction City, were arrested. Rose is charged with second-degree strong-arm robbery, and Berry faces a complicity to commit second-degree robbery charge. Rose allegedly resisted loss-prevention personnel who apparently noticed the alleged shoplifting inside Kmart, according to assistant Police Chief Tony Gray.
