LANCASTER - Garrard County officials are awaiting results to explain the death of a man that went missing last week. Christian Robinette, 41, of Lancaster was reported missing by his wife, Renee Vest, about 9:30 p.m. last Thursday, after the couple had been arguing. An investigation by the Garrard County Sheriff's Office led to Robinette's storage unit at Eastside Storage Thursday afternoon. Inside the unit, they found Robinette dead in his pickup truck. Garrard County Coroner Daryl Hodge said Robinette was lying down in the front seat in a sleeping position with his head at the passenger side and his feet near the steering wheel.

LANCASTER - The city council voted Monday night to adjust the pay grade of the incoming superintendent after the resignation of Lancaster Wastewater Plant Superintendent Millard Rose. Rose is quitting after 26 years of service to the city, with his official last day to fall on Feb. 15. Rose said in a phone interview he is leaving simply because he is “too old for all this bickering,” regarding questions and disagreements with the budget being spent at the sewage treatment plant.

LANCASTER - After about six years, Garrard County once again has a stockyard, the Central Kentucky Marketplace, on Redwood Road south of Lancaster, just off U.S. 27. Saturday will mark the second event for the marketplace, which is owned by Lonzo and Dianne Napier. The couple, who formerly showed Tennessee Walking horses, moved to Garrard County about 11 years ago. Now, their former horse barn is being transformed into a stockyard by Lonzo Napier and their carpenter, James Carpenter.

LANCASTER - Rocky Top Log Furniture and Railing, along with owners Tommy and Gwen Mitchell and many of the company's employees, will soon have their television break, being seen nationwide in a new TV show “LogHeads.” “We will show them Kentucky craftsmanship at its best,” Tommy Mitchell said. Media Meld Studios is in production of the pilot episode of “LogHeads,” a docu-series expected to air on DIY Network by summer. It will focus solely on the Lancaster-based company.

LANCASTER - From taxing districts, to Medicaid and affordable health-care reform, to industrial hemp production, to the Grand Theater, a variety of topics were discussed during Tuesday's town hall meeting in Lancaster with state Rep. Jonathan Shell, R-Lancaster; state Sen. Tom Buford, R-Nicholasville; and Mark Lord, district director for U.S. Rep. Brett Guthrie, R-2nd District, present. For Shell, who began his term in January, elected to fill the shoes left by retiring representative Lonnie Napier, the evening was his first experience at such a meeting.

Johnny Wess Douglas, 70, of Stanford, died Monday, Jan. 21, in Lexington. Born Aug. 1, 1942, in Stanford, Johnny was a son of the late John and Claudia Robbins Douglas. He was retired from Deco Art and a member of Pentecostal Fellowship Church in Lancaster. Survivors include his wife, Iva Frith Douglas; a son, Jack (Kristy) Douglas; a daughter, Jeanna (Tony) Snider; a stepson, Brandon Kirby; a stepdaughter, Jackie Kirby; brothers, Vernon and Bill Douglas; a sister, Nellie Long; one granddaughter; two step-granddaughters; and one step-grandson.
