Lives of little ones are precious Pray for the little ones so brutally slaughtered. Imagine being so young, in a place where you feel secure, are provided for, and have no worries. Suddenly, with no warning and no way to prepare, your life is ended among terror, chaos, blood, and pain. Why are they doing this? You have no chance to protest or to defend yourself. Someone who doesn't even know you has decided to kill you. We can debate assault weapons, but what about the knife attack on 22 children in China?

A possible threat against a high school principal proved to be unfounded Wednesday afternoon. School officials at George Rogers Clark High School contacted the Winchester Police Department about a student who had allegedly threatened the school's principal. Clark County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Elaine Farris released a letter to parents of students at GRC in an effort to quell fears about the threat. Sometime Wednesday afternoon, rumors circulated that the school's principal was under duress, threatened by a student.

In the 2012 presidential election, young voters were a mighty force keeping a Republican out of the White House. An analysis of the 2012 race by the Pew Research Center revealed that if the legal voting age were 30 in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and Virginia, then Romney would have won an Electoral College landslide. Instead, voters 18 to 29 years old in those states favored President Obama by more than 60 percent. A research study conducted by a freshman honors class at the University of Kentucky revealed that values were the key determinant for young voters and that they were turned off by newspaper headlines obsessed with conflict and horse-race factors, such as polls and fundraising totals.
