Judy Ann Howard, 52, of Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly of Winchester, passed away at her home on March 19, 2013, after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Billie Jo Byrd Howard. She was survived by her sisters, Michelle Bartlett of Winchester, Karen (Tommy) Gross of Winchester; a brother, Bill (Peggy) Howard of Lexington; a nephew, Jason Bartlett of Lexington; two aunts, Diana (Jeff) Rogers of Winchester, Sheila (Murrel) Cecil of Winchester; an uncle, Harold (Imogene)

LEXINGTON - M.S. Rezny Studio/Gallery, located in Lexington's Distillery District, will host Harrodsburg resident Kathleen O'Brien's “Realms of Wonder” collages in April. The collages of abstract watercolors, drawings and botanicals echo the healing realms she experiences in meditation.  “Remaining in this meditative state, the energy of the present moment guides me,” O'Brien explains. “The brush glides, making true marks playful and abstract, scribing a universal language or elements of sacred geometry.

Johnny Ray Wiseman, 86, of Winchester, husband of Virginia Gravett Wiseman, passed away Thursday, March 14. A native of Clark County, he was born December 8, 1926, to the late William W. and Laura Belle Bradley Wiseman. Johnny was a United States Air Force Veteran, graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College in Winchester, attended First Baptist Church, member of the Clark County Extension Board, the Clark County Extension Council, Clark County Fair Board, Past President of the Clark County Farm Bureau, Director of the Burley Co-op for 15 years, commissioner of the Clark County Water District for 15 years, member of the Farm Service Agency for five years, and member of the Clark County Agriculture Hall of Fame.

Wes Burtner didn't compete in the NCAA Tournament as a player, but he is reaping the benefits as an administrator at Belmont University. The 1998 George Rogers Clark High School graduate and former Belmont standout serves as director of athletic fundraising at his alma mater,. He will anxiously await the Belmont's destination for the NCAA Tournament when the pairings are released Sunday. Burtner said the team's first-round opponent and seeding is “impossible to predict.” “Based on the year we had, I think we'll fall somewhere as an 11 or 12 seed,” he said.

A new person may soon be facing charges from a 2011 home invasion that left one gunman and the resident dead. Nicholasville soon will have a new shopping option when Marshalls relocates its Lexington store to Brannon Crossing. The “off-price” retailer plans to open its store at 240 E. Brannon Road March 21, according to a news release. The retailer plans to kick off the store's opening with a grand-opening celebration featuring giveaways and gift card prizes from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. on opening day. “The new Lexington store will be stocked with a new, fresh assortment of the designer and brand-name merchandise that shoppers love, every single week,” said Richard Sherr, president of Marshalls.

A former Lexington mayor will spotlight that city's Hunt-Morgan House at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the March 14 Second Thursday program at the Bluegrass Heritage Museum. H. Foster Pettit, mayor of Lexington from 1972 to 1978 and a partner with Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs, will speak. Pettit and his wife Brenda are co-chairs of the 2013 BGT Antiques and Garden Show. He was a state representative from 1964 to 1970 and served on the Kentucky State Crime Commission from 1967 to 1971. Pettit served as president of the Kentucky League of Cities in 1976.

Mary Evelyn McBride, September 30, 1953 - March 5, 2013. Mary passed following a short illness while in care of Baylor Hospital, Grapevine, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Geneva and Robert McBride of Lexington, and her brother, Russell McBride of Chapel Hill, Tenn. She is survived by two nieces and one nephew and three stepnephews and a stepniece. She is also survivedby many friends and family members that loved her dearly.
