The All-Area baseball team meets the very definition of a balanced baseball club. The 14 players voted to The Advocate-Messenger 2013 All-Area Baseball Team in balloting of area coaches are almost evenly divided among five schools. Mercer County, which won its third consecutive 12th Region championship Wednesday, has three players on the roster, as do Boyle County, Danville and Garrard County, while Lincoln County has two players. One of Lincoln's selections, John Day, made the All-Area team for the third consecutive season.

STANFORD - Lincoln County could be a little closer to a decision on whether a county-wide re-addressing project should happen. Bluegrass 911 Director Russ Clark provided Lincoln County magistrates on Tuesday with examples of how re-addressing would impact five different roads around the county. On two of the roads - Ky. 590 and Ky. 1194 - address numbers were acceptable, but Clark recommended changing the official names to "Hubble Road" and "McCormack Church Road. " On the other three roads - Ky. 1247 loop Nos. 1 and 5 and Ky. 3246 - Clark said renumbering and road-naming would be needed to bring the roads up to acceptable standards.
