Johnothon McMillin of Stanford was one of 202 people who received degrees from Lindsey Wilson during the college's winter commencement held Saturday, Dec. 17. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics with secondary education. McMillin was one of two students invited to give the keynote address at the senior banquet.

CAMPBELLSVILLE - Former Danville standout Krystal Jackson scored a game-high 22 points to lead Lindsey Wilson to a 69-66 win over host Campbellsville Thursday to keep the Blue Raiders (12-15) on top in the Mid-South Conference. Lindsey Wilson is now 6-1 in league play and has a one-game lead over University of the Cumberlands. Jackson was 9-for-11 from the field. The junior guard also added seven rebounds and a game-high eight assists. The Blue Raiders made 52.7 percent (29 of 55)

Boyle County’s Kelsey Joslyn shot a 72-78—150 to take medalist honors for Lindsey Wilson at the Bill Sergent Invitational on the Crooked Creek Golf Course in London over the weekend. The Lindsey Wilson freshman beat her teammate, Jennifer MacKinnon, to win her first collegiate title and help the Blue Raiders win the team title by 28 strokes with a 624 total, compared to 652 for Campbellsville.

The Centre College women finished in second place and the men tied for third Thursday in the Jim English-Centre College Invitational at Danville Country Club. Emily Bachert led the Centre women and was second overall with a 39-35-74, while Tyler Griffith was tied for eighth on the men's side at 35-38-73. Bellarmine won the women's title with a team score of 324, one stroke ahead of Centre. Lindsey Wilson won the men's trophy at 287, seven strokes below Centre. MEN Team scores - 1. They won't be teammates any more, and some of them will be rivals within just a few months. But four Mercer County players got to share one last football experience Wednesday. Jordan Elery, James Johnson, Darion Lewis and Logan Lynn signed letters-of-intent to play college football Wednesday during a ceremony at the school. Elery signed with Lindsey Wilson, Johnson with Cumberlands, Lewis with Campbellsville and Lynn with Centre. And they said sitting at the same table as they affirmed their commitments to colleges that will soon pull them in separate directions made the day even more memorable.

Paul Peck has no illusions about comparing his basketball program at Lindsey Wilson to the one Tubby Smith runs at Kentucky. But Peck does believe in many of the same philosophies as Smith and he also knows something about how the UK coach felt when his team was eliminated by Alabama-Birmingham early in the NCAA Tournament. That's because Peck's team lost a 61-58 heartbreaker to Concordia (Calif.) in the NAIA Division I national tournament Saturday in Kansas City to end what had been a terrific season two games too early for Peck and his team.

Former Boyle County High School golfer Taryn Jacobus shot a 77 Tuesday for Union College at Old Bridge Golf Club to finish fourth in the Centre College Fall Invitational. Jacobus shaved 11 strokes off her score from Monday and was named to the all-tournament team with a two-day total of 165. Union finished second to Brescia in the team scores, 47 strokes back. Brescia's Dana Langdon was the female medalist with a 150. Ty Simmons of Brescia was the male medalist in the Kentucky Independent College Invitational at Old Bridge with a 145. Former Boyle County golfer Kelsey Joslyn was named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Year, as well asĀ  academic All-Conference at Lindsey Wilson. The sophomore tied with teammate Kaitlin Allan for medalist honors with a 165 at the MSC Championships, and lost in a playoff to help the school to its seventh straight conference title last week at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood.

LIBERTY - Casey's pitching and offense got untracked after a sluggish start and the Lady Rebels opened their season Monday with a 12-2 win over Campbellsville. Casey (1-0) spotted Campbellsville two runs in the first inning, then scored all 12 of its runs in a four-inning span. The game was stopped after six innings by the 10-run rule. "After we strated getting aggressive, I felt like we were able to take control of the ballgame," Casey coach Andy Stephens said. "We were able to finally get some runners on in the third.
