CLARK MIDDLE PREP The Clark Middle School transition camp for incoming sixth graders will be held from 9 until 11:30 a.m. Aug. 2 at the school. Snacks will be provided, and parents are invited to stay during the event. Registration for Clark Middle School will be held from 9 a.m. until noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 1-2. In the first regular meeting of the new year and the new term, the Winchester Board of Commissioners appointed Commissioner JoEllen Reed Tuesday as the city's vice-mayor for the next two years. "I'm looking very forward to serving in this position, and I consider it honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Winchester in this manner," she said. "I also appreciate the confidence instilled in me by the mayor and my fellow commissioners. " Reed served as vice mayor on the commission from 1999 to 2002 and from 2005 to 2006.
