The first 100 entries for the Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club's fourth annual benefit motorcycle ride will receive a free T-shirt, not the first 200 as reported in Wednesday's edition of The Sun. Human Service Council lunch meeting Tuesday The Clark County Human Service Council will meet at noon Tuesday in the back meeting room at Arby's. All representatives of human service agencies serving Clark County are invited to attend. Chess Club to meet The Winchester Chess Club will meet at 5 p.m. today at College Park Gym. Masons meet Tuesday Winchester Masonic Lodge No.20, F. & A.M., will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the lodge hall.

PUBLIC MEETINGS The Winchester Board of Commissioners will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the board room at City Hall. One of the items on the agenda will be a propsed ordinance that would allow the city to haul away items from sidewalks after tenants are evicted if they are not collected by the tenants within 72 hours. The Winchester-Clark County Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in fiscal court room of the courthouse. Agenda items include public hearings on a proposed tower on Redwing Drive for Powertel Telecommunications, a zone change on Graves Street from R-1C to R-1D for Integrative Maintenance Services, and a text amendment for conditional agriculture uses in zoned areas.

Correction The Music at the Manor benefit concert for STRIDE on Sept. 18 will not include a silent auction, as reported Thursday. The auction is a live auction to decide who will get to be guest conductor for a song. Fall volleyball league offered Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation will sponsor a co-ed fall volleyball league. Teams can register now through Oct. 18. Cost is $250 per team, and all fees are due at the time of registration. Games will be Monday nights at College Park Gym beginning Monday, Oct. 25. There will be a coaches’ meeting Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. in the Health and Wellness Center, meeting room A. Rest area reopens The rest area on the eastbound side of Interstate 64 in Clark County has been reopened by the state Department of Highways.

Danville trails meeting Tuesday A public meeting on the topic of community trails development will be 6:30 p.m. today in the Danville city hall meeting room. Organizers will share the current status of various activities in the community to improve non-motorized access and connectivity among major points of interest and destinations in the city and county.  There will be reports and updates from the office of the city engineer and others involved. Public input is invited.  In addition to the occasion for offering public comments, those present will be asked to help shape project priorities for local planners.

Open house set Boyle Landmark Trust will hold an open house showcasing the renovation of a house 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 25 at 227 Wilderness Road. The ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mayor John Bowling will be at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception. The First Baptist Church Men's choir will perform. Commission OKs car show HARRODSBURG - The Harrodsburg City Commission has approved the use of Chiles Street for a car show on the third Saturday of each month. Don Smith made the request at the commission meeting Tuesday .The Old School Hometown Cruisers is sponsoring the show and Smith said a similar show in Danville attracted a large number of families.
