STANFORD - Seven people have been arrested involving a meth lab busted Saturday in Stanford by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department. Sheriff Curt Folger said Deputy Ryan Kirkpatrick reported to 199 Logan Ave. to serve an Arkansas probation violation warrant on Edward T. Jolly, 31, of Crab Orchard. Folger said his department had been looking for Jolly about two weeks. When Kirkpatrick arrived at the residence, Jolly allegedly ran from the house. Kirkpatrick then discovered a one-step meth lab in plain view in the kitchen along with several other people in the home.

HARRODSBURG - Police here found three operating drug labs Tuesday night and arrested two people on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine. Holly D. Roney, 23, of 704 Parkway Ave., is charged with first offense manufacture of methamphetamine and first-degree wanton endangerment. Police received a tip that methamphetamine was being made at Roney's residence and obtained a search warrant. The home is a duplex in a residential area of the city. Police report that when they arrived, they found three active "one-step" methamphetamine labs.

HARRODSBURG - A Frankfort woman was charged Saturday with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on the U.S. 127 Bypass, police said. Theresa T. Chilton, 29, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, driving under the influence of marijuana and methamphetamine, no insurance and failure to dim headlights, according to a report by Patrolman Scott Elder. Elder stopped Chilton for failure to dim headlights, and found what he suspects is methamphetamine in the vehicle. Chilton was lodged in Boyle County Detention Center.

Boyle County deputy sheriffs found a hidden methamphetamine lab Tuesday night on Stewart's Lane that they believe is connected to a man charged with manufacturing the drug in March. Deputy Marty Elliott said he received a tip Tuesday that there was a lab on land behind Builder's Surplus. Deputies found a black duffle bag containing a tube, coffee filters and cotton balls, all of which are commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine. A "pill wash" used to extract methamphetamine precursors from over-the-counter cold medicine also was found nearby.

MINTONVILLE - Two Casey County residents have been arrested on methamphetamine charges, state police said. Danny L. New and Kevin S. Hall, both of Henson Creek Road, Saturday, were arrested after a traffic stop in the Mintonville community of eastern Casey County. Trooper Tyson Lawson reported that a search of the vehicle produced methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a handgun. That led to a search of the Henson Creek Road residence where materials used to manufacture methamphetamine were discovered and confiscated.

STANFORD - Two men are in the Lincoln County Regional Detention Center, arrested Sunday for cooking methamphetamine in an apartment in the presence of five small children, according to Stanford Police. Police arrested William Hopkins, 25, and Timothy Harker, 31, at Lincoln Terrace Apartment 3 on Star Avenue, after they received several complaints of a foul odor coming from the apartment and excessive foot traffic to and from the residence. Upon entering the residence shortly after midnight, police say they found two adult women and two adult men as well as five minors in the home.

LANCASTER - A Berea man and a woman are in jail on suspicion of having materials used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Christopher Spoonamore, 23, was arrested late Sunday when Lancaster Police Officer Roy Gambrel allegedly found 23 packs of Sudafed and 13 packs of unidentified white pills. Also arrested was Melissa Spoonamore, who refused to give her age or address. Gambrel pulled over Christopher Spoonamore on South Paulding Street after the 4-foot, 11-inch driver failed to dim his headlights.

HARRODSBURG - Two Harrodsburg men are in jail for the alleged manufacture of methamphetamine in a vehicle in which three children were passengers. Billy J. Lyons, 29, was a passenger in a car driven by Earl W. Baker, 36. Both list their address as 629 Mooreland Ave. Police had outstanding warrants on Lyons, so when he was arrested late Saturday night, Mercer County Deputy Sheriff Paul Parks searched the 1989 Ford Escort. The deputy found chemicals and equipment used in the the manufacture of methamphetamine, and the manufacturing process was under way on the rear floor board of the car, court documents allege.

Four arrested on drug charges Four people were arrested Friday night on multiple drug charges after Danville police officers were dispatched to CVS Pharmacy to investigate suspicious activity. Customers at the store on Second Street reported people asking them to purchase Sudafed for them. Upon arrival shortly after 9 p.m., police arrested Lisa Hankins, 41, Michael Blakey Jr., 28, and Timmy Worthington, 46, all of Danville, and Benny Moore, 35, of Stanford. All four were taken to the Boyle County Detention Center.

STANFORD - Five people were jailed on methamphetamine manufacturing charges after the Lincoln County Sheriff's department received an anonymous tip on the location of a drug lab, located three blocks from their office. Jason Carman, 26, is being charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of marijuana after the raid at 308 West Main Street. He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond in the Lincoln County Regional Jail. Also arrested on manufacturing charges was Darla Jo West, 40, Tanith Jo West, 19, Troy E. Wesley, 39, and Chris Crawford, 22. All are being held on a $10,000 cash bond.

CORNISHVILLE - Following an anonymous tip, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office located a one-step methamphetamine lab at about 8 p.m. Thursday in a barn on Cornishville Road.  Gregory C. Black, 30, of Harrodsburg, and Justin T. Centers, 55, of Harrodsburg, were exiting the structure as officers came upon the scene. According to Sheriff Ernie Kelty, the two were told to stop and complied. The property owner, whom police are certain had no knowledge of the lab, gave permission to search the barn.  Kelty explained he could see the makings of the one-step lab from the door, which prompted a call to the Cornishville Fire Department and the Mercer County EMS, for safety reasons, and contact with Kentucky State Police.

Danville Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash at 1:15 a.m. today in the Walmart parking lot, ultimately resulting in the arrest of three people on drug-related charges by the Boyle County Sheriff's Office. Larry Garrett, 28, of Whites Ridge Road, Parksville, allegedly drove into a retaining wall at Walmart, causing moderate damage. Garrett had been under investigation by Boyle County Deputy Sheriff Al Isaacs for alleged manufacturing methamphetamine. As a result of Isaacs' investigation, warrants were obtained.

CRAB ORCHARD - A meth bust Friday afternoon provided Stanford firefighters with one of their first chances to use a hazardous materials response vehicle since they recently reacquired it from Lincoln County. Three Crab Orchard residents and a Brodhead resident were arrested Friday after Lincoln County Sheriff Curt Folger responded to a report of a possible meth lab along Schrock Avenue, north of Crab Orchard. Crab Orchard residents Christopher Leo Young, 26, Brian Haight, 37, and Brittany Payne, 23, were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a methamphetamine precursor and wanton endangerment Brodhead resident Ricky Hale Jr., 30, faces the same charges.

STANFORD - Six people have been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine after fumes from a meth lab hidden in the attic of a Stanford duplex caused neighbors to get sick. Four Stanford residents, a Hustonville woman and a juvenile were arrested Nov. 20 after an early morning investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department led to the discovery of the meth lab. Kenny Shelton Jr., 42; Roger Fox Jr., 28; Chad Stevens, 23; and Jason Perry, 29, all of Stanford, along with Cassie Rachelle Smith Dowell, 23, of Hustonville, and the juvenile were all charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and five counts of wanton endangerment.

HARRODSBURG - Two individuals were arrested on drug-related charges on Sept. 6, following an investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff's Department and the Harrodsburg Police Department. Teresa K. Lewis and Justin L. Williams were arrested after police executed a search warrant at 114 N. Main St. in Harrodsburg, which is an older house that has been converted to apartments, according to Mercer County Chief Deputy Scott Elder. He said they had received a series of complaints about the location and began investigating further.

LIBERTY - The following people were indicted recently by a Casey County grand jury: * Glen Clay Naylor, 41, 10786 Ky. 1547, alleged manufacture of methamphetamine on July 9. Bond was set at $25,000. Deputy Dennis Allen testified before the grand jury. * Chad Daniel Atwood, 34, 244 Taylor St., alleged manufacture of methamphetamine on July 12. A summons was issued. Allen testified before the grand jury. * Jarold Scott Waddle, 37, and Celesta Lee Waddle, 44, both of 130 Dillon St., Apt. 137, alleged manufacture of methamphetamine on July 3; Scott Waddle also charged with fleeing police and being a persistent felony offender.

Prescription drug abuse is the kind of problem that impacts everyone, not just people from certain walks of life, or people who live in certain areas. That means, Winchester Mayor Ed Burtner said, everyone needs to be involved in helping find a solution. Burtner was one of five panelists speaking about community responses to prescription drug abuse at Wednesday's Kentucky Prescription Drug Abuse Summit at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington. “The impact on local communities is startling,” Burtner said.
