CORNISHVILLE - Following an anonymous tip, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office located a one-step methamphetamine lab at about 8 p.m. Thursday in a barn on Cornishville Road. Gregory C. Black, 30, of Harrodsburg, and Justin T. Centers, 55, of Harrodsburg, were exiting the structure as officers came upon the scene. According to Sheriff Ernie Kelty, the two were told to stop and complied. The property owner, whom police are certain had no knowledge of the lab, gave permission to search the barn. Kelty explained he could see the makings of the one-step lab from the door, which prompted a call to the Cornishville Fire Department and the Mercer County EMS, for safety reasons, and contact with Kentucky State Police.
