Aidan Rayborn, the son of Ashley and Donathan Rayborn of Middleburg, was born Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Fort Logan Hospital at 1:20 a.m. He weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces and measured 19 inches at birth. Maternal grandparents are Johnny and Ruth Sims of Stanford. Paternal grandparents are Johnny and Sue Rayborn of Middleburg.

Lois Perry, 81, of Middleburg, passed away Friday, Nov. 2 at the Liberty Care Center.  Born March 27, 1931, in Middleburg,  Lois was a daughter of the late J. Lee and Inez Delk Walls. She was a homemaker, a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church and the widow of Ralph Perry. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Walls of Middleburg; and a brother, Eugene (Lona) Walls of Waynesburg. Survivors include nieces,  nephews, family and friends. Funeral services were Nov. 6 at Bartle Funeral Home in Liberty with Rev. Bill Hill  officiating.

Johnny and Ruth Sims of Stanford and Johnny and Sue Rayborn of Middleburg announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Ashley Leann Sims and Donathan Everett Wayne Rayborn. The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Orange Park Christian Academy in Orange Park, Fla., with an associate degree in early childhood development. She is the granddaughter of John Sims of Crab Orchard, Martha Proffitt of London and Ruby and Roy Lanigan of Putnam County, Fla. The groom-elect is a 2005 graduate of Casey County High School.

MIDDLEBURG - Janice Patterson, 51, of Middleburg, died Saturday from multiple injuries suffered in an Aug. 13 automobile accident in Casey County. She had been at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington since the crash on Ky. 70 in front of Ruthie's Diner. Patterson's 1988 Toyota collided with a dump truck driven by Sherman Hatter, 55, of Yosemite. The truck was hauling a bulldozer on a trailer, which jack-knifed. After Patterson's vehicle hit the dump truck, it ran into a Toyota pickup truck driven by Conrad Baldock, 55, of Yosemite.

HUSTONVILLE - A Hustonville teenager was injured Sunday morning in a one-vehicle crash on Ky. 198 west of Middleburg, state police said. Dara M. Vaught, 17, was treated for injuries at Casey County Hospital. She was driving east when her 2001 Dodge left the roadway and struck a fence. She was wearing a seat belt.

Harrison Stidham , 65, died Tuesday. Arrangements are pending at Spurlin Funeral Home, Lancaster. Gary Hart , 46, of Middleburg, died today. Arrangements are pending at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford.

MIDDLEBURG - Crystal Sims says her son has added a few pounds over the last six months. “He's getting chunky because he's gotten lazy,” Sims says of her 10-year-old boy. “Before he was outside all the time. Now he spends all of his time in the house. He's scared of everything.” Garrett Carrier comes by his newfound timidity and lay-about ways naturally, with good reason. In July he was mauled by a neighbor's pit bull. The attack was so vicious that Garrett's left arm was nearly ripped from his body, left hanging only by the bone and a thin strand of muscle.

Bill Asbery, 44, of Hustonville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, at his home. Born Aug. 6, 1968, in Boyle County, Bill was the son of Barbara Blakey Asbery of Hustonville and the late Jimmie Asbery. He was a tool and die maker and  owner and operator of B&J Towing.  He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on cars. Other survivors include his  wife, Judy Barnett Asbery of Hustonville; a son, Joe Asbery of Hustonville; and a cousin, Kenneth Reed of Middleburg.

Billy Lane, 39, of Middleburg, formerly of Hustonville, died Saturday, Aug. 18.  Born June 18, 1973, Billy was a son of Larry and Carol Clark Lane of Hustonville.  Other survivors include his wife, Sondra Hurt Lane; two sons, Spencer and Cameron Lane; sister, Karen Coffman of Hustonville; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services were Aug. 21 at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with his uncles, Bros. Marvin Lane and Donald Clark officiating. Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery.  Active pallbearers were Tommy Delk, Lil Larry Cooper, Phillip Elmore, Duane Wilham, Kirk Goodlett and Casey Patterson.

Garry Gregory Hart, 46, of Middleburg, died Thursday, July 12, in Casey County.  Born Oct. 4, 1965, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Garry was a son of Dora Oney Hart of Stanford and the late Gary Hart. He was a trim operator at R&R Donnelly in Danville. Other survivors include his wife, Peggy Hart of Middleburg; two sons, Bradley (Brooke) Hart of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and Kenneth (Amy) Reynolds  of Junction City; two brothers, Tony  (Stacy) Hart of Morehead and Bryan (Brooke) Hart of Stanford; one sister, Sandy (Gabriel)

Adam Manuel Rosario, 22 weeks, was born and died Thursday, June 5 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  He was the son of Lindsay Rayborn and Jose Rosario of Middleburg.  Other survivors include his maternal grandparents, Todd and Sharon Rayborn; and paternal grandparents, Mariana and Juan Manuel Rosario. Graveside services were July 7 at Salyers Cemetery in Walltown. Spurlin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

I think a more accurate description for the so called “Affordable” Health Care Act would be the “Unaffordable” Health Care Act.  Poll after poll indicates the majority of people did not want it. It's not about concerns for our health but control over us and a major step towards Marxism or a Communist form of government. What better way to take a major step in that direction than to disguise or hide it in a so called health bill. No wonder it was all schemed and conceived by the liberal leftwing radical Democrats behind locked doors.

Dallas Ray Rayborn, 46, of Lancaster,  died Tuesday, June 12 in Louisville.  Born June 27, 1965, in Casey County, Dallas was a son of the late Harold and Shirley Rayborn. He was a farmer. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Glancy Harold Rayborn. Survivors include his girlfriend, Elizabeth "Shortie" Simpson of Lancaster; two sons, Justin and Richard Rayborn of Lancaster; three brothers, Todd (Sharon) and Junior (Katie) Rayborn both of Middleburg and Scottie (Becky)
