HUSTONVILLE - A Hustonville teenager was injured Sunday morning in a one-vehicle crash on Ky. 198 west of Middleburg, state police said. Dara M. Vaught, 17, was treated for injuries at Casey County Hospital. She was driving east when her 2001 Dodge left the roadway and struck a fence. She was wearing a seat belt.

Adrianna Marie Hendrix, the daughter of Astarra Price and Thomas Hendrix of Crab Orchard, was born Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Fort Logan Hospital at 7:20 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces and measured 20 inches at birth. Maternal grandmother is Angela Price of Morral, Ohio. Paternal grandparents are Judy K. and Dennis Hendrix of Hyden. Great grandparents are Jackie and Frances Price of Middleburg.

Adam Manuel Rosario, 22 weeks, was born and died Thursday, June 5 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. He was the son of Lindsay Rayborn and Jose Rosario of Middleburg. Other survivors include his maternal grandparents, Todd and Sharon Rayborn; and paternal grandparents, Mariana and Juan Manuel Rosario. Graveside services were July 7 at Salyers Cemetery in Walltown. Spurlin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIBERTY - A lawnmower and some medication were taken from the Gene Hodge and Sandra Yocum residence at 250 Joe Patterson Road, Middleburg, police said. The lawnmower, a Murray with a 42-inch cut, was valued at $1,100 was taken from a barn and the medication was taken from the residence, according to Sheriff Jerry Coffman. There was no forced entry to the house, he said. The couple reported the thefts May 12 and said they occurred between May 5-12.

Billy Lane, 39, of Middleburg, formerly of Hustonville, died Saturday, Aug. 18. Born June 18, 1973, Billy was a son of Larry and Carol Clark Lane of Hustonville. Other survivors include his wife, Sondra Hurt Lane; two sons, Spencer and Cameron Lane; sister, Karen Coffman of Hustonville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Aug. 21 at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with his uncles, Bros. Marvin Lane and Donald Clark officiating. Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Tommy Delk, Lil Larry Cooper, Phillip Elmore, Duane Wilham, Kirk Goodlett and Casey Patterson.

MIDDLEBURG - An early morning fire in Casey County destroyed a family's house. The single-story structure with a basement, about two miles east of Middleburg on Ky. 198, was described as a total loss by East Casey County Fire Chief Robert Murphy. The couple who lived there, Wilfred and Kathleen Randolph, were home at the time of the blaze but were not injured. Murphy said the fire began just after midnight and was caused by a fuel oil stove. About 12:30 a.m., firefighters from the East Casey County Fire Department, as well as the South East Casey County, Poplar Springs, Brush Creek and Dunnville departments, the Liberty/Casey County rescue squad, and tankers from Lincoln County Fire Department, arrived on scene.
