Dear Editor, I would like to bring to the attention of parents, an incident that occurred this past Thursday at Millennium Park. An adult male made unwanted remarks to some school-aged children. Be aware that this and every community is not immune to this kind of behavior. Therefore, I hope all concerned members of this community will contact local leaders and ask for better lighting at the bathroom facilities at our park. As for the young ones affected by this incident, I applaud them for doing the right thing by telling an adult/parent about what occurred.

Dear Editor: We would like to thank and praise John Drake and the Danville-Boyle County Parks and Recreation Department. Danville Christian Academy hosted a cross country meet at Millennium Park last week, and we were treated wonderfully by John and his park crew. The assistance they gave us in setting up for the meet, mowing the grounds and allowing us to use some of their equipment was outstanding. It is great to be a part of a community that is proud of the activities that are ongoing within it. The parks department showed a true community spirit and service.
