Montgomery Gentry will appear on the two-hour season premiere of NBC's "Las Vegas. " The two-hour episode will air at 9 p.m. Sept. 28. Now entering its fifth season, the drama follows the Las Vegas team in charge of maintaining security for one of the city's largest resorts and casinos and stars Josh Duhamel, Molly Sims, James Lesure, Vanessa Marcil and Tom Selleck. Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry will perform their Top 5 hit, "Hell Yeah," on the show.

Country music singer Eddie Montgomery of Boyle County is true blue when it comes to his basketball. Montgomery is touring the country with partner Troy Gentry and entertaining Montgomery Gentry fans from coast to coast. However, Montgomery still follows his basketball. "I've got UK and the Cards in the Final Four. I've got the Cards and Illinois. I had Florida over North Carolina, but now it's going to be UK and North Carolina in the Final Four. UK wins it all. "

Country music singer Eddie Montgomery was honored for being one of Perryville's "favorite and best-known sons" Monday when a sign proclaiming the city as the "Home of Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry" was unveiled on U.S. 150. An emotional Montgomery wiped away tears before kissing the sign. "Perryville is America. This is where you want your family to be. When I go out on the road, I can't wait to get back here," Montgomery said. Signs are being placed at the four major entrances to Perryville.

Considering the problem Tubby Smith has had keeping life in his team the second half of the last two games, maybe it's time to call special motivational help into Rupp Arena. Normally the mayday call might go out for actress Ashley Judd, Kentucky's most well-known fan, to inspire not only the crowd but also the Wildcats. However, since she's tied up with a Broadway show, there is a more than adequate replacement - or replacements - nearby. Why not put Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry in the E-Rupp-tion zone to pump some life into Rupp Arena, and hopefully the Wildcats?

LEXINGTON - Kentucky receiver Gerad Parker has been plagued with bad luck when it comes to injuries during his collegiate career, but he's had much better luck in another pursuit - karaoke contests. He's won several contests with his favorite song, "Friends in Low Places," by Garth Brooks. "That's the song I go to whenever I get in those contests," Parker admitted. "I really enjoy that song, and I do it better than anything else. " Parker was a singer before he was a football payer.

Country music singer Eddie Montgomery autographed copies of Montgomery Gentry's new CD, "Back When I Knew It All," for Boyle County's Matthew Bottom to share with his National Guard unit in Iraq. Bottom's parents, Lisa and Pete, are friends with Tracy and Eddie Montgomery, and the country music star quickly agreed to their request for the troops. "I called Tracy and asked about getting 140 CDs and to see if Eddie would sign them and, of course, she said he would. Eddie is always ready and willing to help with anything that has to do with the troops," Pete Bottom said.

The Gridiron Bash, a series of football pep rallies and concerts to be held at 16 schools across the nation, has been postponed by the event's sponsor, MSL Sports and Entertainment. The University of Kentucky was scheduled to hold its version of the Gridiron Bash, including a concert by Wynonna Judd and Dierks Bentley, on April 18. Stageforrent.Com and Premier AV employees hoist a 15-by-20 foot rear projection screen into place on the side of the 53-foot main stage Thursday morning, top photo. The workmen are preparing Lykins Park for the John Michael Montgomery Country-Fest 2011, which begins today. Country music stars slated to perform tonight are Kentucky Headhunters at 6 p.m., Jake Owen at 8 p.m. and Montgomery Gentry at 10 p.m. The festival continues Saturday with music beginning at 10 a.m. by local singer Lauren Mink.

The University of Kentucky men's basketball game against Eastern Kentucky scheduled for Dec. 29 has been moved to noon Dec. 30 at Rupp Arena to accommodate UK fans wishing to attend both the basketball game and the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl Dec. 29. The Music City Bowl at 1 p.m. in Nashville pairs the UK football team against Clemson. "It's important that we allow our fans the opportunity to attend both of these games," UK athletics director Mitch Barnhart said. "I appreciate both EKU and Rupp Arena working with us to make this work for our fans.
