Sandra Lee Brumfield of Nicholasville, daughter of Robert and Cathy Brumfield, also of Nicholasville, and Brandon Lee Montgomery of Nicholasville, son of Wayne and Melissa Montgomery, also of Nicholasville, will be united in marriage. The future bride is a 2003 graduate of East Jessamine High School and a 2007 graduate of Georgetown College. She is currently employed as a science teacher at East Jessamine Middle School. The future groom is a 2001 Graduate of EJHS, a 2005 graduate of Georgetown College and is currently a fourth year College of Pharmacy Student at the University of Kentucky.

The Isaiah House Drug and Alcohol Recovery Center elected Ray Montgomery of Danville, as the new board president. He is taking over for Michael Mullins of Stanford. Ray, the husband of Lynn Keppy-Montgomery, is an operations manager for D&D Machinery. He is a graduate of Boyle County High School, Lindsey Wilson College, the University of Kentucky, and Lexington Community College with degrees in business management and industrial electronics. Ray is an elder at Southside Christian Church in Harrodsburg.

Pauline Montgomery Maddox, 72, of Sand Knob, died Sunday, March 12 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. A native of Boyle County, she was born Nov. 13, 1933 to the late Sam and Liza Burchett Montgomery. She was a homemaker and member of Friendship Baptist Church in Butchertown. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Maddox of Sand Knob; one sister, Lillie Massey of Lawrenceburg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday, March 16)

William and Charlotte Montgomery of Stanford announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kallen Montgomery, to James Wright, the son of Jackie Wright of Waynesburg and Bonnie Jean Wright of Eubank. The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Lincoln County High School, 2005 graduate of the University of Kentucky, and a 2007 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences. The groom-elect, a 2000 graduate of Lincoln County High School and 2002 graduate of Somerset Technical College, is employed by Integrity Mold and Die in Mt. Vernon.

Mabel Violet Montgomery, of Vincennes, IN., died Wednesday, May 3. A native of Pike Co., she was born Sept. 27, 1914 to Will and Minerva (Horn) Adington. She had retired from Continental Baking Company in 1976, worked part time for Organ's Florist and Greenhouse in Vincennes, IN., a member of First Christian Church of Vincennes, IN.; and the widow of Robert Montgomery. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy (Vern)

Dear Editor: I have had the honor to meet many celebrities, but the most genuine and most patriotic Americans today are Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, known as Montgomery Gentry.

The George Rogers Clark High School girls' basketball team turned to its center to help pave the way to a big win in the team's home opener Saturday night. Whitney Montgomery's double-double helped lead the Lady Cardinals to a 58-32 victory over the Scott High Lady Eagles at Norton Gymnasium. Clark coach Scott True praised Montgomery's performance, saying she did a "super" job. Montgomery was "excited" as well. "This is the first time I've ever done that before," she said.

He's had to cancel two shows along with plans to attend a prestigious Kentucky Derby party Friday and the Derby Saturday as a guest of Gov. Ernie Fletcher, but country music singer Eddie Montgomery says a severely broken arm won't keep him down for long. "I'm going to be back out working on the farm soon," said Montgomery Wednesday. It took two surgeons over three hours to repair his broken left wrist Monday in Lexington after he fell off the stage in Asheville, N.C., Thursday at the start of the Montgomery Gentry concert.

The DUI case of singer John Michael Montgomery has been postponed until May, partly to review controversial postings on the arresting officer's Web site. Fayette District Judge Megan Lake Thornton rescheduled his pretrial conference for May 11 at the request of Assistant Fayette County Attorney Jack Miller. Montgomery, who pleaded not guilty to DUI and other charges stemming from an arrest in February, was the topic on conversation on the Web site of Lexington Police Officer Joshua Comer in the weeks following his arrest.
