Dear Editor, Here in Morehead at the "famous" coffee house, the loafers are saying that the reason President Bush visited the Far East is to see if they needed any more jobs - he had a few left here in America. I still try to trust President Bush and Vice President Cheney. I try to think that they are honest and never lie, like the news media says they do. I try to think that our president and all the senators and representatives are of the highest quality, and not totally for special interests.

March 10, 1984 MOREHEAD (AP) - The Morehead State University Eagles won a school record 22 games this season en route to this weekend's tournament. 4-H leaders from Clark County recently attended a state leader meeting in Louisville. WINCHESTER - Forest Supervisor Jerome Perez is recommending a permanent closure of the Stanton office on the Daniel Boone National Forest. Perez forwarded his recommendation last week to the regional forester, Charles Myers, in Atlanta. This request comes after months of organizational restructuring on the national forest in an effort to further increase operating efficiency and reduce costs in line with agency-wide initiatives. "During reorganization in 2005, the Stanton and Morehead districts of the national forest were consolidated to form the Cumberland Ranger District," said Perez.

Ty and Wendy Howard of Stanford announce the birth of a daughter, Alexa Paige Howard, on Nov. 19, 2006 at 12:14 p.m. at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and measured 19 inches at birth. Maternal grandparents are Alvie and Betty Atwood of Stanford. Paternal grandparents are Ken and Sarah Howard and Bob and Barbara Marsh all of Morehead. She joins a brother, Jared, age 8 1/2 and a sister, Abigail, age 6.
