One of Stanford's newest businesses was hit by burglars sometime between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. Stanford Police Detective Barry Allen said the theft at East Main Choppers was discovered when an employee showed up for work on Wednesday morning. The employee told police that he noticed someone had tried to pry open a door and then discovered a broken window. Dear Editor: May is motorcycle awareness month. There will be more motorcycles on the roads this year than any other, especially with gas prices on the rise. With this in mind, I would like to ask drivers to be more alert while driving during the riding season. The most common excuse a driver gives when involved in an accident with a motorcycle is, "I didn't see it. " When crossing an intersection or turning at an intersection, don't just glance, stop and look with your eyes and brain, then, take the extra second to look again and look both ways.
