A popular song says, "It's the most wonderful time of the year. " But for many people, the weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day aren't wonderful - they're wildly hectic, frustrating and expensive.The holidays don't have to be a hassle. You can take steps now to make them much merrier. Think about past holidays and ask yourself, "What was fun and memorable? What could I do differently to make the holidays happier this year?" Here are some ideas: Take care of yourself. Eat right, don't drink to excess and get plenty of sleep and exercise.

Most federal and state offices will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays. The list is as follows: Boyle County Danville city hall will be closed Dec. 24, Dec. 27 and Dec. 31. Boyle County courthouse offices will be closed Dec. 23 -24 and Dec. 31. Most government offices will be closed for New Year's Day. Boyle County Boyle County Courthouse, Recycling Center, Humane Society and Convenience Centers will be closed Thursday and reopen Friday. However, the county clerk's office computers will not be available Thursday through Saturday. Offices of the Boyle circuit and district clerk and driver's licensing office will be closed Thursday and Friday. The Sheriff's Department will be closed Thursday. Offices for the city of Danville will be closed Thursday.
