The Nicholasville chief of police will be seeking the city commission's approval on an ordinance that would require hotels and motels operating inside the city limits to release customer information to officers upon request. “I've got it written up, and (city attorney Bill Arvin) is checking it out (to make sure everything is legal),” chief Barry Waldrop said toward the end of Monday's meeting. “It should be coming up by the next meeting for a first-reading vote.” Waldrop didn't give much information on why he is requesting the ordinance but said other cities have similar ordinances in place.

But the 16-year-old has become larger than life. The West Jessamine High School freshman was given a key to the city by Nicholasville Mayor Russ Meyer , was honored by the Jessamine County Fiscal Court, and has been featured in stories by the Lexington Herald-Leader, WKYT, and Kentucky Sports Radio, among others. When a piece by the Louisville Courier-Journal was picked up by USA Today , the story of the Nicholasville boy who rubs elbows with several well-known University of Kentucky basketball and baseball players went national.
