One of the first restaurants to open at Brannon Crossing was Panera Bread. Walking in, you are greeted by the warm mustard-colored walls and a basket full of the free sample of the day. Behind a small glass barrier sits mountains of delectable treats and a wall full of bread and bagels. Everyone behind the counter is quick to greet you and take your order. For this day I took my 2-year-old son out for an early lunch. For his meal my son wanted the grilled cheese, which was served on white whole grain bread for $3.69.

Members of the Pink Ribbon Partners, planning to attend the Ignite the Promise 2007 Survivor Event have been asked to meet at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in the rear parking lot of Applebees. The event will be held at Southland Christian Church, 5001 Harrodsburg Road, Building F, Lexington. Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the program and lunch from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Panera Bread Company, fashions will be by Coldwater Creek, and Sue Wylie will be the keynote speaker.

St. Athanasius offers bread ministry Project Lazarus Bread Gifting Ministry operates through the generosity of Panera Bread as a ministry of St. Athanasius Orthodox Church. Project Lazarus gives free packages of bread and bagels away from 1 to 2 p.m. Sundays out of St. Athanasius, 926 S. Main St. (next to Prescription Pad). If you have questions about this ministry, call the church office at 881-8188. First A/G to hold fellowship breakfast First Assembly of God, 1701 Wilmore Road, will hold a men’s fellowship breakfast at 9 a.m. every second Saturday of the month.

THURSDAY - The Jessamine County Senior Center will host a “Seniorcise” fitness program for adults 60 years of age and older. The 10-week session will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. and started April 23. The center is located at 111 Hover Drive. For more information, call 859-885-9102. - The Wilmore Senior Community Center will host Body Flex: Fitness for Life each Thursday in June at 11 a.m. - The Wilmore Senior Community Center will host a movie night June 13 at 6 p.m. This week's movie will be “The Impossible.” - Join us for Living Well: Around the Nation Spring Fling on June 12 at noon and June 13 at 5 p.m.  You'll leave this program with tips, tricks, and recipes for living green inexpensively and realistically.  All participants will receive a copy of Living Well: More Than a Cookbook.

­­­Fellowship Holiness to host homecoming Fellowship Holiness Church, located at 202 Booker Street, will celebrate its 50th homecoming May 31 through June 2. The Friday night service will feature guest speaker Rodney Murphy, while the Saturday night service will feature speaker Buddy E. Puckett and singing by The Upper Room Experience. Both services start at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday morning service starts at 10, and the speaker will be Denton Howard along with several other guest ministers.
