PARKSVILLE - Boyle County law enforcement officials are searching for two people in a late 1980s Nissan sedan who they believe tried to burglarize a Mitchell Lane home Monday morning. About 10 a.m., the female occupant of the residence heard unusual noises at the house's windows and garage, said Sheriff Marty Elliott. The homeowner then noticed a young woman with long brown hair entering the residence through the side garage door. With a handgun, the homeowner confronted the would-be burglar, which caused the suspect to flee the scene, Elliott said.

There are no parks in Parksville - at least not the one here in Kentucky.   But, according to the website for Parksville, B.C., located on Canada's Vancouver Island, their six provincial parks within a 30-minute drive of the town, providing every recreational activity imaginable. Parksville, Ky., does boast a store we refer to as “the store.” Since the Feathers ran it, though - nigh on to a hundred years - no one has kept it running that long. The Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge will host a spring birding hike at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 23. Some early migrating birds are already showing up in western Kentucky, so this is a good time to find out what may have arrived in the knobs before the leaves begin to block the view in the trees.  Dress for the weather, wear good walking shoes, and bring binoculars, if you have them. If not, “loaners” will be available. Meet in the refuge parking lot. In addition, the Cheek Nature Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Nature Center houses samples of and information about plants, animals and geology that may be seen at the refuge, including examples of bird feathers and nests, rocks, an insect display, educational materials for teachers, posters and maps.  Jane and J.P. Brantley, education directors, will be on hand to answer questions about the refuge.

PARKSVILLE - It's late morning and 12-year-old Chloe Goss is taking a break from her home school routine to record a voice-over for a radio station.  These days, life is moving quite fast for the young Christian music star.  It was only a year ago that Chloe was an average middle-school student at a public school in LaGrange who enjoyed singing, but only in private. She was so shy, her parents, Michael and Dawn Goss, had to sneak peeks around corners if they wanted to catch their daughter in the act. Chloe had always said she wanted to be an artist, but her father, who has experience in Nashville as a songwriter, knew Chloe would have to come out of her shell if she wanted to be on the public stage.

Who cares?! I just listened to part of Hillary Clinton's testimony before Congress on Benghazi. Sen. Johnson asked her why the administration “misled” the American public to believe the attack was caused by a viral video online. Mrs. Clinton answered passionately, “Who cares? There were four Americans dead, and everybody was running around trying to figure out if the attack was caused from a video or from some people out for a Sunday walk who decided to go kill some Americans.” So, who cares?
