Post 46 helps hurricane victims Boyle Post 46, American Legion, is accepting clothing donations to send to hurricane victims and to replenish their supply available to the community. The organization recently sent 80 boxes of clothing to the Gulf Coast area. Items may be dropped off 4:30-7 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8 a.m.-noon Friday at the headquarters at Spears Lane and Ky. 33. Melissa McWhorter and Jason Martin were married Aug. 30 by the Rev. David Alford at the Green River Pentecostal Church. Kelly Alford of Stanford served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Gray of Danville, Connie Gunterman of Parksville, and Heather McWhorter of Hustonville. Sharla Alford of Stanford was flower girl. Mary Elizabeth Curtis Sallee, 85, of Parksville, formerly of Lincoln County, died Monday, March 20 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Hospital in Danville. A native of Stanford, she was born Oct. 5, 1920 to the late Lewis and Eva Clymer Curtis. She was a homemaker, a member of Moreland United Methodist Church for 50 years (now Westside United Methodist Church), and the widow of John W. Sallee. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bill (Linda) and Jimmy (Bettie) Sallee. Survivors include two sons, John W. (Jo Belle)

A sixth suspect has been charged in connection with an ongoing methamphetamine lab investigation conducted over the last several weeks by the Boyle County Sheriff's Department. Cheryl C. Hrapek, 30, of 84 Baker Lane, Parksville, was charged earlier this week with first-degree manufacturing of methamphetamine, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a methamphetamine precursor and first-degree controlled substance endangerment of a child.

Two adults working on a controlled burn in Boyle County had to be taken to separate hospitals to be treated for severe burns Saturday night. It happened around 9 p.m. at a farm on Old Mitchellsburg Road in Parksville. Officials said the fire got out of control and severely burned the two adults. One was burned so badly, he had to be airlifted to UK Hospital. The other victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance. No names have been released. Information from WLEX Web site.
