Rear-end collision results in DUI LANCASTER - A Lancaster woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol about 10 p.m. Thursday after hitting another Lancaster resident who was attempting to turn into her driveway from Fall Lick Road. Kentucky State Police said Allison C. Bowman, 30, was charged with DUI with aggravators, careless driving and no insurance. She was lodged in the Lincoln County Regional Jail and released Friday after posting a $100 bond.

A Lincoln County building contractor has been indicted by a Boyle County grand jury for allegedly taking money for construction jobs from four Boyle County residents but never completing the work. Randal L. Long, 26, of 720 Fairgrounds Road, is charged with four counts of theft by failure to make required disposition. According to the indictment, Long took between $500 and $10,000 from Everheart Walker, Mary Gardner Helton, Ricky Bryant and William Bailey for materials and labor for jobs but never performed the work.

Hundley promoted to assistant supervisor Charles “Chip” Hundley has been promoted to assistant supervisor in District 6 of the state Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole, effective July 1. The district covers 10 counties. Hundley began his career with the Department of Corrections in 1995 at Northpoint Training Center where he was employed as a classification and treatment officer. On Oct. 1, 2001, he transferred to the position of probation and parole officer serving as an institutional parole officer for Northpoint.

Spoonamore-McCoy Sonny and Donna Spoonamore of Stanford announce the engagement of their daughter, Tinsley Brooke Spoonamore, to Casey Jackson McCoy, son of Tim and Jenny McCoy of Danville. Ms. Spoonamore is a 2002 graduate of Lincoln County High School and a 2007 graduate of Lexington Community College with a major in dental hygiene. She is a dental hygienist for Dr. H. David O’Donnell in Lexington. Mr. McCoy is a 2002 graduate of Boyle County High School and a 2007 graduate of Morehead State University with a major in criminology.

EUBANK - A Pulaski County man who violated his parole is in jail after police pursued him over roads and countryside Thursday, eventually forcing his vehicle to stop in a creek over the Lincoln County line. Pulaski Sheriff Todd Wood said Sgt. John Williams and Deputy Scott West were helping a probation and parole officer locate Rodney Davis, of 3790 Ky. 70 in Eubank, after probation and parole received a tip that Davis may have been at a residence on along Ky. 328. Davis was wanted for violating his parole.

STANFORD - A Pulaski County man who led authorities on an off-road pursuit up a creek May 31 was indicted Friday by a Lincoln County grand jury. Rodney H. Davis, of 3790 Ky. 70 in Eubank, faces one count of possession of a handgun by a felon, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of first-degree criminal mischief and one count of second-degree fleeing and evading police. Pulaski Sheriff John Wood told The Interior Journal June 1 that a pair of his deputies were helping a probation and parole officer locate Davis, who was wanted for violating his parole.

A grandmother who hit Danville High School Principal Joseph Payne over the head with her cane will not serve any additional time in jail after pleading guilty Tuesday to reduced charges. Pearlie Baskin, 54, of 936 Westwood Court, agreed to a probated sentence of one year in jail in exchange for pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault and abuse of a teacher. Baskin was originally charged with third-degree assault, a felony. She served four days in jail after she was arrested for the assault, which happened on the DHS campus in October after Baskin and her daughter came to the school to discuss problems her granddaughter was having with a male student.

BURGIN - Police Chief Jim Caldwell said a fourth suspect is still being sought in connection with a recent foiled burglary at a Burgin church, but he is not ready to release the person's name. "He's a white male, 21 years of age, and he's either hanging out in Stanford trying to gather up some money to make it to Baltimore, or he's already headed that way, according to our leads," Caldwell said today. The suspect is already on parole, Caldwell said, with prior convictions out of Boyle County for a series of break-ins from 2003, including some churches.

STANFORD - Elizabeth Hill, on shock probation for stealing more than a quarter-million dollars from the Lincoln County Industrial Authority, will not return to prison despite her second, and seemingly final, warning from a circuit court judge to obey the conditions of her probation. Hill appeared in court Friday to again answer allegations of parole violations, namely having dinner with her children outside of Lincoln County. She was allowed to be out of the county only one hour before and after working at her husband's used car lot on Stanford Road in Boyle County.
