The images would be the ultimate in “reality” programming: A TV broadcast or online streaming video of an actual execution. Would you watch? Would you want news organizations - or anyone with a computer, for that matter - to broadcast or stream it on a live or delayed basis? On July 22, Georgia prison officials complied with a request from Andrew Grant DeYoung's attorneys for a video of Young's death by lethal injection for killing three people in 1993. There are no plans for the DeYoung tape to be aired anywhere - yet. The video, being held by a court, could be evidence in a future lawsuit over execution methods.

Computers are becoming overloaded with thousands of images that have never been printed or put on a CD or DVD. Be sure to back up those files by copying them before a hard drive crashes or a camera flash card becomes corrupt and loses all of those precious moments. If you're like me, every couple weeks your hard drive on your laptop or computer runs out of space with images and word documents. 1. Always back up your files with two copies. It's recommended to burn a copy to CD or DVD and then copy the same files to a hard drive (external or internal)

A longtime interest in capturing life on film has led McKinney native Stephen Denham to begin photographing Lincoln County barns, as a means of preservation. “I just enjoy photography,” he said. “I've always got a camera handy.” Denham, who was born the middle of five children, said he was always the one called upon in school to operate the projector when they watched 16 millimeter films. With that knowledge, he moved to the Cincinnati area after graduation and began looking for work.

The library is happy to announce its display of new yuletide photography by Attis Puppendottir, the manager of Winchester's Myristica Farm. Many of you will remember Attis' Jul-Root Harvest at Myristica Farm show last December, which featured documentary photographs of the Dyrsen clan, Hyreindeer Herders, harvesting colorful Jul-root which they grow in rich coffee-grounds compost. This year's photography show is even more whimsical and luminous. Attis assembled a cast of Puppendottirs, Ouessants, Dyrsen, Toys, plus Tex the T-Rex and Goldie the Land Carp, to produce a glorious picture interpretation of Mel Torme's classic, “The Christmas Song,” or “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire.” One of the first photos shows Attis and Tex-Rex lounging near the fireplace in which they roast their horse chestnuts.
