Boyle Circuit Judge Darren Peckler's courtroom was packed Tuesday as the three public defenders - appointed to represent three Danville residents charged in connection with a death - reported being satisfied that the commonwealth had produced all the evidence required by the discovery process. The three defendants are charged in connection with the death of Michael Dean Begley Jr., 27, of Richmond and are scheduled for another status conference on March 6. Begley's girlfriend, Gina Priest, 41, and Melissa Jean Luna, 28, both of 103 Aldridge Lane, are charged with tampering with physical evidence.

Four people accused of burglarizing a Domino's Pizza last month have been arrested, Danville police said. Dexter O. Brand, 22, of 817 E. Main St. in Danville; Deodric R. Nealy, 19, of Beech Street in Danville; Gregory D. Stallworth, 20, of 530 Denmark Dr. in Danville; and Tara M. Aranda, 23, of 301 N. Hill-N-Dale St. in Danville, are all being held in Boyle County Detention Center. Brand, Nealy and Stallworth are all charged with felony third-degree burglary and felony tampering with physical evidence, while Aranda is only charged with third-degree burglary.

Two people were arrested last Thursday night, June 7, in connection with a shooting. The arrest citation states a witness identified Antonio Lee Casey, 27, of Tulsa, Okla., as the person who allegedly fired a handgun from a red Ford truck at an apartment complex, vehicles and other people. The alleged driver, Savannah F. Jacobs, 18, of Frankfort was also arrested by police and charged with complicity. The shooting was the result of a dispute, but the citation did not state the nature of the dispute.

Three people charged in connection with the death of a man found on a Boyle County roadside in late November appeared Tuesday in Boyle Circuit Court for a status hearing. All three defendants received a continuance until July 10 in order to consider new evidence in the case. No further information was forthcoming about the nature of the new evidence. Jordan Montez White, 24, of 418 Adams St., is charged with reckless homicide and tampering with physical evidence in the death of Michael Dean Begley Jr., 27, of Richmond.

The attorney for accused murderer Thomas Wayne Hager Jr. agreed Wednesday to have his case waived to a Boyle County grand jury. Hager pleaded not guilty last week to two charges of murder in the May 21 shooting deaths of Mark Snyder, 21, of Waynesburg and Ted Sparks, 54, of Danville and the attempted murder of Phillip White, 37, of Lancaster. He also pleaded not guilty to a charge of tampering with physical evidence. Commonwealth Attorney Richie Bottoms said the next meeting of the grand jury will be June 26, but the prosecution could file an information in the case, which would bypass the typical indictment process.

HARRODSBURG - Police are investigating a shooting reported early Wednesday morning in the area of Poplar Heights. According to a press release, residents told police shots had been heard at the subdivision located near U.S 127.  Officers responded to the situation and discovered one side of a duplex on Lynn Drive had gunshot damage, the release stated. A police investigation revealed shots had been fired at the building from the rear and the front, and physical evidence is still being processed.

Reports - At 10 a.m. Monday, Edward Reed of 1560 Clintonville Road reported that someone damaged the chain link fence at Goshen Primitive Baptist Church, 2360 Goshen Road, during the night. - At 9 p.m. Monday, Nancy Woosley of 6871 Irvine Road reported that someone entered her home and took a Nintendo Wii. - At 8:18 a.m. Monday, Roger Lyman of 1278 Ecton Road reported that someone damaged his pickup truck.
