The attendance at the Green River Pentecostal Church on Sunday morning was 260. One lady received the Lord Sunday night. There will be a potluck birthday celebration for Stella Carrier next Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the McKinney gym. She will be 100 years old. On Tuesday night, Dec. 18, there will be a Christmas dinner for the men of the church at the Kentucky Depot. On Friday night, there will be play practice for adults who are in acts one and two. All acts will be practicing on Sunday afternoon.

FIRST SETTLERS HOMEMAKERS CLUB MEETING The First Settlers Homemakers Club will meet on Wednesday, May 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Community House on Boonesboro Road. The meeting will be followed by a covered dish luncheon. CLARK COUNTY HOME ECONOMIST MEETING The Clark County Home Economists will meet on May 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the UK Arboretum in Lexington. After the program, group members will meet at Red Lobster for dinner. The meeting is hosted by Marge Walker and Jane Brown.

Sept. 18, 1983 Marianthy Ducas was installed as president of the Clark County Woman's Club for 1983-84 at the annual membership potluck dinner at the Ducas home. Other officers installed were Louella Brantley, first vice president; Pat Carlisle, second vice president; Donna Coon, third vice president; Trydy Cayton, recording secretary; and Betty Keselle, corresponding secretary. Members of the George Rogers Clark Marching Band snare section held a special practice session recently at the high school.

March 21, 1987 The March meeting of the Boonesboro Road Homemakers Club was held Wednesday at the home of Mary Frances Jones, Boone Avenue, with Mrs. Marian Richards and Mrs. Marian Hieronymus as assisting hostess. Mrs. Hieronymus conducted the meeting and the devotion, “I Am with God in My Garden,”¿was given by Mrs. William G. Kagin. Ronald W. Kitchen, 65, of Waynesburg, died suddenly  on Thursday, May 10, in California. Ron was a member of the Jersey Cattle Association, past president of the Kentucky Jersey Cattle Club and retired from Whirlpool Corporation. He and Nancy were visiting Yosemite National Park where he enjoyed fishing, hiking and the glorious scenery. Survivors include his wife, Nancy C. Kitchen of Waynesburg; a daughter, Virginia Lee (Bryan) Williams of Findlay, Ohio; two grandchildren, Drew Anthony and Chloe Elizabeth Williams of Findlay, Ohio; a brother, David Kitchen of Findlay, Ohio; a sister, Sandi Spitler, of Findlay, Ohio; and his ex-wife, Barbara Schade of Lima, Ohio.

Silent auction, karaoke benefit set A silent auction and karaoke benefit will be 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 46 on Spears Lane. Breakfast will be served 9 a.m.-noon for $3.50. Soup and sandwiches will be served 1-5 p.m. for $5.50. Proceeds from the event and donations will go to the family of Sharon Kaye Griffin Perrin, who recently died after four years of battling kidney disease, to help cover her final expenses. Auction items and monetary donations can be dropped off at the American Legion.
