A Danville police drug investigation late Thursday night in the Sonic restaurant parking lot on Hustonville Road netted some marijuana but no arrests as yet, police said. However, a Danville area man who was one of the subjects in the probe was arrested on a Missouri extradition warrant for a probation violation. Robert Christopher Caldwell II, 20, of 95 Ky. 1273, was being held this morning without bond at the Boyle County Detention Center pending the outcome of an extradition hearing, a jail spokesman said.

Browning, flagrant non-support, pleaded guilty, recommended one year, sentencing Jan. 15, 2009. - Brian L. Crowe, first-degree wanton endangerment, pleaded guilty, recommended three years; first-degree criminal mischief, pleaded guilty, recommended three years; sentencing Feb. 5, 2009. - Johnny G. Covington, flagrant non-support, pleaded guilty, waived sentencing hearing, sentenced to one year.

STANFORD - A former secretary who embezzled $240,000 from the Lincoln County Industrial Authority was back in court Friday after falling $1,500 behind in her restitution payments. Elizabeth Hill had not made a $500 monthly payment since August, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Carol Hill said. Elizabeth Hill told Lincoln Circuit Judge David Tapp that she would make a payment this month and two in January. She said she had gotten behind because her husband had not worked since April and business at Curves, the women's fitness facility she operates, had been slow but is entering its busy time.

A man who crashed into a motorized wheelchair while running from the police this summer was sentenced to probation, provided he completes a drug treatment program. Shelby W. Banks, 29, of Paris, was facing four years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges last month for the summer pursuit. In October, Banks pleaded guilty to all charges including two counts of possession of a controlled substance, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended operator's license.

One copper thief was sentenced to probation while his co-defendant will serve four years in prison for allegedly stripping the metal from a number of homes and churches. Dennis Haggard Jr. and Bobby Noble pleaded guilty to multiple counts of first-degree criminal mischief last month for a rash of copper thefts throughout the county. Both Winchester Police and the Clark County Sheriff's Office were investigating the thefts, and both filed charges against the two men, who were arrested during another theft this summer.
