SOMERSET - 45th District winner Lincoln County and runner-up Boyle County drew to opposite brackets of the 12th Region Tournament when the pairings were announced Sunday. Lincoln (24-5) will face Southwestern (5-22) in the opening game of the tournament, to be held at Pulaski County beginning Wednesday. Game time is 6 p.m. Pulaski County (14-13) will meet East Jessamine at 8:30 the same night. On Thursday, Wayne County (21-10) will play Somerset (19-11) at 6, followed at 8:30 by Boyle County (17-12)

STANFORD - About 12:30 p.m. Friday, Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff Don Gilliam responded to a call from Walmart regarding a small child left unattended in a vehicle. According to the sheriff's office, Gilliam determined from witnesses that an infant was locked inside the running vehicle and had been there about 30 minutes. At the scene, Gilliam located Jeffrey Hatter, 24, of Yosemite and charged him with endangering the welfare of a minor. Hatter also was arrested on unrelated charges from Pulaski County, including failure to appear on traffic charges and receiving stolen property more than $300.
