The Reds defeated the Giants 11-1 Thursday. Ritchie and Shoebrooks combined pitching efforts provided the win for the Reds, allowing 10 hits in the game. The Reds recorded 18 hits off of Tuttle, Webster, and Mullins. Crabtree led the offense for the Reds with 3 hits. Powell County defeated the Braves 9-5 Friday. Lee was the winning pitcher in the contest, giving up 19 hits and 3 walks. Ryan Frye recorded the loss for the Braves. Powell County also recorded a 9-4 victory over the Yankees Friday.

The Winchester American 11- and 12-year-old All-Star team earned the No. 4 seed and will take on fifth-seeded Anderson County at 7 p.m. tonight at Anderson-Dean Park in Harrodsburg. The winner will take on No. 2 seed Western American at 4 p.m. Friday. The Americans compiled a 2-1 record in pool play. Winchester lost to top-seeded Eastern American 11-1 to open pool play, but recovered with a 3-2 triumph over Mercer County, followed by a 6-2 victory over Richmond National. Winchester National went 1-2 in pool play.

The Winchester Reds beat the Winchester Red Sox 9-8 to win the Winchester Youth Baseball League city championship last week. The Reds scored eight runs in the first three innings. Zack Roe, Justin Maggard, Quinn and J. C. Cornelius led the Reds with two hits apiece. Jarrod Maggard and Drew Blevins each had a hit helping the Reds to their 11th win on the year. J.C. Cornelius recorded his first win of the year, striking out three in four innings of work. Jarrod Maggard came on in relied and fanned five batters in his two innings of work to get the save.

The field is set.The Mets and White Sox will meet for the city championship in the Major League Division on Monday night at Lykins Park. The Athletics and the Dodgers will meet in the consolation game at 6 p.m., followed by the Mets and White Sox in the finals at 8. In tournament play on Thursday, the Redwings and the Bulls each were victorious in the Minor League. In a Junior League encounter, the Reds posted an exciting 7-6 win over the Yankees. Minor League Redwings 7, Bats 1 The Redwings scored five runs in the third inning and held on for a 7-1 win over the Bats.

The Orioles came from five runs down to beat the Reds 6-5 in the city championship of the 11-12-year-old Major League division of the Winchester Little League Baseball Tournament June 25 at Lykins Park. Tyler Howard and Chandler English led the way on the mound for the Orioles, with Elliott throwing four innings, giving up all five Reds runs before giving way to English, who pitched a scoreless inning in relief. The Reds scored a run in the first inning off two hits, then plated four more runs on five hits off Elliott in the third, to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
