Car vandalized The convertible top on a 1997 BMW was damaged while the car was parked Monday afternoon in a lot on Beatty Avenue, Danville police said. In the criminal mischief report he filed with police, the car's owner, Matthew Cummings, said he found the top to his BMW had been cut when he went to the Beatty Avenue parking lot about 3 p.m. Officer Sally Bustle investigated. Registration plate reported stolen HARRODSBURG Rex Russell, 41, of 732 Cloverdale Drive, reported to the Harrodsburg Police Department Monday that someone took the registration plate from his vehicle parked at his house.

LIBERTY - A Harrodsburg man has been indicted in Casey County for theft and receiving stolen property, according to records in Circuit Clerk Craig Overstreet's office. George R. Vaughn, 35, of 323 N. Magnolia St., is accused of taking control of a four-wheeler from Debbie Staton and of receiving stolen property for having the four-wheeler in his possession. The vehicle is valued more than $300. Vaughn also was indicted on two counts of first-degree persistent felony offender. His bond is $7,500.

WINCHESTER POLICE Reports - At 1:34 p.m. Tuesday, Angela Barnes of 422 Walnut Street reported someone stole the stereo from her vehicle. Charged - Antonio Rodriguez Hooten, 26, of 127 Third St., was charged Saturday with driving on a suspended operator's license. - Steven M. Horak, 19, of Louisville, was charged Tuesday with improper display of registration plate, improper registration plate, failure to wear seat belt and no insurance. - Billy Ingram, 50, of 510 College Street, was charged Tuesday with public intoxication.

CAMPBELLSVILLE - A man who was in custody of Campbellsville Police also has been charged with thefts in Harrodsburg.  Jimmy L. Alsman, 41, of Harrodsburg, was arrested by Campbellsville Police when he attempted to sell a stolen trailer. He was in possession of a vehicle that police discovered belonged to Baker's Used Cars.  When they contacted Jeffrey Baker, owner of Baker's Used Cars, he confirmed the stolen 2001 Dodge Ram did belong to him and realized the absence of a Kentucky registration plate and 10 to 12 sets of keys for other vehicles.

He was also served a warrant. - Denise R. Stevens, 47, was charged Monday with no or expired registration plate, no or expired registration receipt, prescription controlled substance not in proper container and no insurance.

Charged — Walter D. Harper Jr., 36, of Lexington, was charged Friday with speeding, reckless driving, driving under the influence of intoxicants, no insurance, expired registration plate and expired registration. — James E. Bryant, 37, of Mount Sterling, was charged Friday with public intoxication, second-degree promoting contraband and possession of a suspended operator’s license. Reports — On Feb. 28, Wendy Johnson of Freedom Metals reported that a known male forged a ticket in an attempt to be paid for more batteries than he turned in. The man recycled one battery, but when he turned in the ticket to be paid, the number was changed to 31. The man fled when confronted by other employees.
