A Nicholasville man accused of robbery, wanton endangerment and kidnapping has a status hearing scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in Jessamine Circuit Court. Shaun Nevius, 23, of 720 S. Main St. faces charges of first- and second-degree robbery, wanton endangerment and kidnapping stemming from two incidents that allegedly occurred in March and April 2011. According to court records, Nevius was arrested March 11 and indicted in May for a second-degree robbery “when he used physical force upon Melanie Burton in order to commit a theft.” Also in May 2011, he was indicted on charges of first- and second-degree robbery and kidnapping stemming from an April 16 arrest.

Police are trying to find a man who robbed another early Monday morning as he was going fishing. At about 5:30 a.m. Monday, police said the suspect flagged down a motorist near the intersection of Broadway and Rowland Avenue. The suspect then got in the car and pulled out a gun. The victim said he didn't have any money, and the suspect hit him in the face. The driver surrendered his wallet and drove the suspect more than a mile down the road before he jumped out of the vehicle and ran. The suspect is a white male, approximately 6-foot-1 and 175 to 200 pounds.

Two Hispanic men and one Hispanic teenager were arrested by Nicholasville police late Friday night following a botched armed robbery attempt at Little Caesars located at 964 N. Main St. Alexander Francisco, 18, of 1508 Continental Square, Lexington; Raul Patino, 19, 1573 Jennifer Drive, Lexington; and a 15-year-old juvenile were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery. The incident happened around 11:20 p.m. when the three men allegedly attempted to rob the pizza store via the drive-through window.

Clark County was classified as having some of the “highest” reported numbers in robbery offenses, aggravated assaults, burglaries, larcenies and murders in an annual report detailing the state's crime rates. The Kentucky State Police's 2010 Crime in Kentucky Report was recently released, and the numbers reflect offenses reported to or known by police. Clark County had five murders, eight rapes, 21 robberies, 61 assaults, 350 burglaries, 711 larcenies, 31 auto thefts and six arsons in 2010 for a total of 1,193 crimes.

Nicholasville police are investigating an alleged robbery at the Brannon Crossing McDonald's Thursday morning. A manager at the restaurant had entered his car and began driving away from the property with a deposit around 1:30 a.m. when a man approached the vehicle on foot, officer Kevin Grimes said. The man on foot flashed “what appeared to be a gun” to the manager and demanded the money, Grimes said. The alleged robber took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot across U.S. 27 toward Cracker Barrel.

Three men who police say fired a handgun several times at Lake Mingo Park last fall have a status hearing in Jessamine Circuit Court Aug. 12 at 9 a.m. According to court records, Joseph McDowell, Markus Chamber and Alphonzo Lyvers each face charges of first-degree complicity robbery and five counts of first-degree complicity wanton endangerment. McDowell also faces a charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun and a charge of being a second-degree persistent felony offender.

HARRODSBURG — A Harrodsburg man suspected of robbing a Marathon station in Mercer County before fleeing to Campbellsville on Wednesday night turned himself in to authorities Thursday. Terrence Lee Walker, 21, is accused of robbing the store on College Street at gunpoint about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. After less than 24 hours on the run, Walker gave himself up Thursday afternoon at the Mercer County Courthouse. A store employee said Walker entered the store shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday and waited until the manager went outside.

HARRODSBURG — A Harrodsburg man is being sought on a first-degree robbery charge after he allegedly robbed the Marathon store at 620 S. College St. at gunpoint about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. Terrence Lee Walker, 21, was last seen in Campbellsville and is considered armed and dangerous. He remained at large this morning, and Campbellsville police urged anyone who encounters Walker to immediately call the police and not approach him. Harrodsburg police responded to the Marathon store Wednesday night after an employee, 18-year-old Mason Shirley, reported he had been robbed at gunpoint.

Stanford Police Chief Keith Middleton said that one Stanford woman was assaulted in one of two home invasion robberies over the last two weeks that resulted in the arrest of three juveniles. In the first incident, three robbers kicked in the door to a residence of an 81-year old Stanford woman at 1 a.m. on May 8 and stole her purse containing credit cards and $200 in cash. The victim had no contact with suspects at that time, but said she called 911 after hearing the robbers talking near her back porch.

HARRODSBURG — A Harrodsburg man was indicted recently by a Mercer County grand jury for the hold-up a check-cashing business last month. Andrew S. Henninger, 30, of 661 Oakland Lane, was charged with first-degree robbery for allegedly threatening to use physical force while armed with a deadly weapon while taking money from Cash Express on March 21. Bond was set at $100,000. Harrodsburg officer Granville Peyton testified before the grand jury. Others indicted were: Tyson Dunn, 33, of Lexington, bailjumping for allegedly failing to appear for final sentencing in Mercer Circuit Court on March 8. Bond was set at $5,000.
