Dear Editor, I have lived in Danville for the last 12 years. During that time I have never had my trash picked up at my home. I lived on Woods Alley for 10 years and never once saw a trash truck on my street. The last 17 months I have lived on Russell Street and have still not had trash picked up. I understand that recycling in a hot item now, but how can I, a one-person household, be charged the same amount for pick-up as a family of four? When I lived on Woods Alley, the city never thought enough of us to even pave my street in the 10 years I lived there.

100 YEARS AGO -1908 A.N. Wells of Shelby City is about to win a long fight before the Court of Claims in Washington, D.C., for the estate of the late Dr. W.O. Robards. The claim came about from personal property taken during the battle of Perryville by the Federal soldiers. The claim has already been allowed and all that remains to be done is to forward the power of attorney to the Washington lawyers so they can get the amount placed in the Omnibus Bill, which will be up for passage within a few weeks.
