Dear Editor, My husband and I purchased two graves at Danville Memorial Gardens; we also purchased lawn crypts and a bronze marker for ourselves. The salesman told us that because my husband was a veteran we would also receive a bronze marker for free from the Veterans Administration and that there was nothing we had to pay, telling us "not to worry," they would order it. The salesman never informed us of any charge to set the free veteran's marker. My husband died this year, and as promised, Danville Memorial Gardens ordered the free bronze marker from the VA. Now, after the marker has been ordered and received from the VA, they are telling me that I must pay for the marker to be set at their own "VA marker setting charge" of $500.
