Donna Moore-Young, 43, of Science Hill, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Born Aug. 22, 1969, in Somerset, Donna was the daughter of George and Mereda Burkett Moore of Science Hill.  She was a LPN for Neighborhood Nursing and Rehab. Other survivors include her husband, Leon M. Young of Science Hill; two sons, Jeffrey Tyrese Garrett and Jacob Devonte Moore of Science Hill; step son, Damyan Michael Young of Danville;  and mother-in-law, Ella M. Young of Science Hill.

Wayne Wilson, 70, of Science Hill, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, at his residence. Born July 6, 1942, in Pulaski County, Wayne was a son of the late Homer and Olvie Wilson.  He was a used furniture salesman with Wilson's Used Furniture. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wayna Wilson; two brothers, Dallas  and Carthel Wilson; and one grandchild. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Haynes Wilson of Science Hill; two sons, Doug Turner of Dunneville and Ralph "Bud" Hall of Science Hill; five daughters, Ila Wilson Brooks of Lexington, Darla Blaylock of Knoxville, Tenn., Lolita Bradshaw of Wisconsin, Treasa Johnson of Science Hill and Kaye Pitman of Somerset; one brother, Gene (Sandy)

David Ernest Wilson, 58, of Science Hill, passed away Tuesday, June 26. Born April 27, 1954, in Somerset, David was a son of Zora Lee Correll Wilson of Science Hill and the late Edgar Wilson. He loved being with his family, riding horses with the Apple Dumplin Gang, working with old cars and hanging out with the Saturday garage gang. David frequented Hardee's and Gerald's Auto Parts and was a member of West Somerset Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death a nephew, Bryan Hensley; his in-laws, James and Lena McQueen; and sister-in-law, Kim Bolin.

Hazel Massey Acey, 82, of Science Hill, passed away Wednesday, Sep. 26, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Born May 31, 1930, in Pulaski County, Hazel was a daughter of the late Amanda Wesley Ballard and Edward Massey. She was a homemaker, a former employee of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and a member of First Baptist Church of Science Hill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin "Bob" Acey, who died on Jan. 23, 2008; two brothers, Charles Massey and Paul Massey, who died in infancy; two sisters, Angela and Elizabeth Massey, who both died in infancy; and one grandson, Joseph Acey.

Jerry Alan LaFavers, 66, of Science Hill, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Born Oct. 29, 1945, in Jabez, Jerry was a son of Elsa Walters LaFavers of Science Hill and the late Etsy M. LaFavers.  He was a mason for Roberts Brothers and a member of Northside Baptist Church. Other survivors include his wife, Linda Hodge LaFavers of Science Hill; one son, Rodney (Vicki) LaFavers of Science Hill; one daughter, Becky (Mark) Winstead of Science Hill; four sisters, Betty LaFavers of Arlington, W.Va., Mary Ann Elliott of San Jose, Calif.,  and Joyce Copley and Carol LaFavers, both of Somerset; mother-in-law, Shirley Hodge of Science Hill; seven grandchildren, Heather, Andrew, Jenny, Johnathon, Carrie, Kayla and T.J.; and five great grandchildren, Chloe, Callista, Ashton, Wyatt and Bailee.

Eddie O. Steele, 44, of Science Hill, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, at his residence. Born  Oct. 18, 1968, in New Carlisle, Ohio, Eddie was the  son of Jean Reynolds Gammel of Illinois and the late Eddie Steele.  He was a member of Science Hill Christian Church, a jailer for the Lincoln County Jail and a die- hard Kentucky Wildcat fan.  He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ossie and Dennis Reynolds; paternal grandparents,...

Zella Crawford Sears, 80, of E. Hwy. 635, Science Hill, died Friday, Jan. 27 her home. A native of Science Hill, she was born July 12, 1925 to the late Robert Leighton Crawford and Stella Vaught Crawford. She was an elementary school teacher for the Pulaski County School District. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Louise Sears; a brother, Lindsey Crawford; and two sisters, Lucille Crawford and Doris Ungetheim. Survivors include her husband, Orville E. Sears of Science Hill; one son, David (Tammy)

Danny Paul Ware, 59, of Science Hill, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, at his residence. Born May 17, 1953, in King Bee, Danny was a son of the late Delbert and Oda Hall Ware. He was a refinery worker for Somerset Refinery and a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janie Estep. Survivors include his wife, Jerlene Wiles Ware, whom he married on March 17, 1973; one son, Daniel Paul Ware of Science Hill; one daughter, Danielle Nicole (Derrick)

Bascom "Bat" Campbell, 79, of Science Hill, died Tuesday, June 23 at Britthaven Nursing Home. A native of Unicoy County, Tenn., he was born June 1, 1930, to the late Harvey and Sinda Willis Campbell. He was a retired woodworker, member of Pulaski Baptist Church and Science Hill and Somerset Masonic Lodge and widower of Ruby Nolen Campbell. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Wilmore Brewer. Survivors include four brothers, Conley (Alma) Campbell and Orley (Betty)

Bessie E. "Betty" Creiglow, 82, of Science Hill, died Monday, June 1 at her residence. A native of Lancaster, Ohio, she was born Jan. 9, 1927, to the late Russell Lowell and Bessie E. Schwabaugh Walt. She was a missionary and a member of Science Hill First Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband, Bobby D. Creiglow of Science Hill; one son, Mike Creiglow of Brazil, South America; three daughters, Brenda Nix and Arlete Moore, both of Walhalla, S. C., and Arlene Bradley of Waynesburg; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Robert C. Deaton, 83, of Eubank, passed away Wednesday, May 15, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Born Sept. 8, 1929, in Lee County, Robert was a  son of the late Jesse James and Dora May Morris Deaton. He was a farmer and an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Robert attended  Floyd Switch Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death three sisters, Arvella Drake, Lillian Abell and Betty Pennington. Survivors include two sons, Dennis and Douglas Deaton of Michigan; two daughters, Rosemary Deaton and Darla Kay Deaton of Michigan; and five sisters, Minnie Lou Long of Shelbyville, Delvena Cockerham of Nicholasville,  Rita Spencer of Indiana, Frances Tomes Phillips of Somerset and Shirley Shipley of Springfield, Mo.; Funeral services were May 18, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill with Bro. Shelby Reynolds officiating.

William Bass Wesley, 86, of Science Hill, passed away Friday, May 10. Born Jan. 29, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio, William was a son of the late Raymond "R.T. " and Gertie Wesley. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Fanny Weber; two sons, Everett and William Wesley; four brothers, Claude Lee Wesley, Avery Thomas Wesley, Milford Ray Wesley and Carlos Ray Wesley; and two sisters, Thelma Rash and Tansy Hamm. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Florence Turner Wesley; children, Sue (Glen)

Pamela Sue Turpin, 44, of Eubank, passed away Thursday, April 25, at her residence. Born Dec. 26, 1968, in Pulaski County, Pamela was a daughter of Christine Dick Ashley of Eubank and the late Rufus Bud Young.  She was a homemaker and certified nurse's aide. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brittany Turpin; and a sister, Tammy Surber.  Other survivors include her husband, John Turpin of Eubank; stepfather, Leo Ashley of Eubank; three sons, Chris Young and Gregory and Brandon Turpin of Eubank; four brothers, Rick, Lee and Ray Young and Michael Dick; and four grandchildren, Braylin Cox, Cheyenne Turpin, Kayden Brooks and Aidan Thomas.

Jacob Donald "Jake" Ebenstein, 19, of Eubank, passed away Tuesday, April 16, at University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born October of 1993, in Olathe, Kansas, Jake was a  son of Donald William Ebenstein of Gardner, Kansas and Tina Fay Hauser Ebenstein of Eubank.  He was a senior at Pulaski County High School and an employee of Culvers. Other survivors three brothers, William Joseph Cunningham of Eubank and Matthew Roberto Ebenstein and Adam Victor Ebenstein, both of Gardner, Kansas; one sister, Jalisa Fay Cunningham of Eubank; maternal grandparents, Janrose and Greg Hauser; paternal grandparents, Don and Sue Ebenstein; aunt and uncle, Robyn and Doug Stephens; and cousins, Kayla and Tara Stephens.

Martha E. Gossett Mofield, 69, of Science Hill, passed away Friday, March 15, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Born May 20, 1943, in Poynter, Martha was a  daughter of the late James W. Gossett and Della Mae Sweet Gossett.  She was a wife and homemaker, who dearly loved her family and a former cook at Northern Middle School. Martha was a devoted follower of her Lord and savior Jesus Christ and long-time member of Jacksonville Baptist Church.  She was also preceded in death by two sons, Rick Allen Mofield and Norman Ray Mofield; and three brothers, Sherman, Earl and Jean Gossett.

Audrey Morris, 82, of Science Hill, passed away Wednesday, March 6. Born July 24, 1930, in Ansel, Audrey was a  daughter of the late Elvin and Clara Godby Wesley. She was a salad maker for Morehead University, a member of Beech Grove Methodist Church and the widow of Hobert William Morris, who preceded her in death on July 28, 1997. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Erlin, Loyd, Delmer and Lowell Wesley and baby boy Wesley; one sister, Mildred West; daughter-in-law, Vickie West; and two grandchildren, Trudy West and Joey Talbott.

Shirley Marie Slagle Dobbs, 77, of Science Hill, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, at her residence. Born Aug. 7, 1935, in Harlan County, Shirley was a  daughter of the late Dorcey Emil and Martha Jane Saylor Slagle. She was a retired seamstress from Palm Beach and a former owner and operator of Redwood Restaurant in Lancaster. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers, Charles Slagle, Lawrence Slagle, Vernon Slagle, Lee Opal Slagle, Haskell Saylor, William "Bill" Slagle, Frank Slage and Jesse Saylor; six sisters, Iva Slagle, Eva Slagle, Vada Slagle Unthank, Reba Saylor Sparks, Edna Stutzman and Elizabeth Jones; and one granddaughter, Latasha Michelle Dobbs.

Delmer F. Blevins, 82, of Eubank, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, at his residence.  Born Jan. 31, 1931, in Eubank, Delmer was the only child of the late Charlie and Lola Littrell Blevins. He was a retired farmer, a Korean War Marine veteran, and a member of Goochtown Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Koger.  Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Doris Godbey Blevins; five children, Patricia Epperson, Pam (Randy) Dyer, Chris (Stephanie)

David Wayne Dick, 47, of Eubank, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6. Born Dec. 12, 1965, in Somerset, David was a son of Billy and Gloria Smith Dick of Eubank. He was a mason for 25 years and enjoyed golfing, playing horse shoes and watching Kentucky basketball. He enjoyed his family.  and his grandson, Braden was his pride and joy.  David, a friend to all that knew him, was a good hardworking, honest man and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his second grandchild, his namesake, David "Gage" Dick.
