The Nicholasville Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle accident that sent two people to the hospital Tuesday. The wreck happened around 2:15 p.m. on Wichita Drive. It involved a Chevrolet Trail Blazer, and there were two people in the vehicle during the crash. Police were unclear whom the driver was during the crash, and the investigation is ongoing, officer Kevin Grimes said. “As best as we can tell, the vehicle was traveling on Wichita (headed toward Auburn Drive)

A man sustained minor injuries in a motor-scooter crash Tuesday on North Main Street that closed two lanes of traffic for several minutes. The southbound scooter wiped out in front of The Jessamine Journal around 5 p.m. Nicholasville Fire Department personnel were the first responders from their station just a block away. The driver was transported to Saint Joseph-Jessamine RJ Corman Ambulatory Care Center by Jessamine County EMS with minor injuries. Southbound traffic on North Main Street was diverted to 2nd Street while northbound traffic continued slowly while crews worked at the scene for about 20 minutes.

A Jessamine County woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on Ashgrove Road, near Tates Creek Road. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when Donna Whitaker lost control of her Toyota Camry in a curve while driving east on Ashgrove Road toward Tates Creek Road, said Jessamine County Sheriff's Deputy John Sallee. Whitaker's vehicle left the road and went over an embankment before ending up on its side against a tree. She had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters from the Jessamine Fire District, and was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital by the Jessamine EMS.

HARRODSBURG - A single-vehicle accident Friday caused the driver to be taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center for treatment. The Mercer County Sheriff's Department, based on a witness' account, said Steve Waterfill, 38, of Jim Forsythe Lane in Harrodsburg was traveling west on Ky. 152 at approximately 2:08 p.m. Friday when his vehicle left the roadway. Waterfill's automobile collided with a rock before hitting a tree, where it came to a rest. The witness at the scene, Rita Devine, said Waterfill's truck crossed into the path of her vehicle as she was traveling east on Ky. 152. Devine said she made an evasive move and avoided a collision with Waterfill's vehicle but it continued off the road and down an embankment.

Two females in the vehicle were treated at the scene by Winchester Fire-EMS. The driver, Mary Casey of Clay City, lost control of her car and struck a tree and a fence. Wet road conditions may have contributed to several wrecks throughout the day in Winchester and Clark County.

Reports - At 6 a.m. Thursday, David King of 220 Bracken reported that someone hit the window of his car causing a hole in it. Accidents - At 7:44 a.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Kentucky 627 in which Mitchell Woodard of Richmond lost control of his vehicle after hitting a slick spot on the bridge. The vehicle hit the bridge rail and overturned several times before hitting an earthen embankment. Woodard was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

An assistant supervisor at the Danville Water Plant was killed early Saturday morning as he was delivering his Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper route, Boyle County Sheriff's deputies said. Carroll "Lee" St. John, 48, of Alexander Drive, Danville, died in the single-vehicle accident on U.S. 127 at the northern limits of Junction City, deputies said. His 1994 Nissan pick-up was traveling west on Old Hustonville Road at 4:24 a.m. when it traveled through a stop sign, crossed four lanes of traffic and struck a rock embankment.

HARRODSBURG - Vincent B. Riley, 35, of 1125 Cole Lane died as a result of a single-vehicle accident in which he was the driver. Riley was driving north on Cole Lane at about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, when he lost control of his vehicle, according to an accident report from Kentucky State Police Trooper Troy Trayner. The vehicle ran off the left shoulder of the roadway and Riley overcorrected, crossing the road and going off the right shoulder. The vehicle struck a tree and came to rest there.

The driver in a single-vehicle accident passed away at 1 p.m. Sunday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. According to the Clark County Sheriff's Office, Allen Terry, 21, of Bybee Road, was within two miles of his home on Wednesday at approximately 11 p.m. when he swerved off the road, going through a chain-link metal fence and hitting a brick mailbox on the driver's side door. Officers are still unsure what caused the accident.

Craft's vehicle went airborne and landed in the front yard of a house at 1655 Lexington Road, police said. Paramedics treated Craft at the scene and transported him to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

One injured in Gose Pike crash   Danville emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle collision Friday morning at the intersection of Gose Pike and U.S. 150, according to a police report. John Miller, 63, of Harrodsburg, caused the accident when he disregarded a red light at 11:50 a.m. Friday, according to police. Miller's 2008 Dodge truck with trailer crashed into a 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Marjorie Newcomb, 55, of Stanford. Newcomb was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

By Katelynn Griffin A Clay County man was killed around 10 a.m. Friday in a single-vehicle accident outside of Crab Orchard. Family members at the scene identified the man as James Layton, 51, of Manchester. Lincoln County Sheriff Curt Folger said that Layton was traveling west on US 150 in a Ford F-150 when he attempted to pass another vehicle, over-corrected, crossed into the east bound lane and left the highway. The crash occurred at the intersection of South and North Delaney Road.

A Waynesburg man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident Sunday in Danville, according to police. About 4:40 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of East Lexington Avenue and Old Wilderness Road. Officers found Justin Muse, 22, of Shake Rag Road trapped in a Honda Civic that had gone off the road into an embankment, Capt. James Monroe said.  Danville firefighters used their equipment to free Muse from his car, and he was flown by helicopter to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington with possible life-threatening injuries.

Early Tuesday afternoon a routine, non-injury single-vehicle accident on KY 39 south of Crab Orchard suddenly became a highly dangerous event for EMS workers and bystanders when a second vehicle crashed into an ambulance at the scene. Crab Orchard resident James Cox, 21, was traveling south on KY 39 in the area known as The Knob when he entered a turn and found a truck straddling the center line, forcing him into the guard rail. The truck passed safely, but Cox lost control of his vehicle, crossed the road and hit a limestone cliff head-on, coming to rest on the shoulder of the northbound lane.
