Dear Editor, I had the pleasure of attending the talent show at Danville High School on Friday. Not only was I greatly entertained by the students who participated, I was impressed by the excellent behavior of the student audience. Danville High School is filled with young people who have a variety of talents. Each of those individuals who entered the talent show were listened to, cheered for and encouraged by their peers. What a wonderful experience it was to see this group of young people truly united and supportive of one another.

Downtown Nicholasville will once again welcome the Jessamine Jamboree Sept. 9 and 10. This will be the fourth straight year that Nicholasville Now has coordinated the event. The highlight of the two-day event is the parade, which will go as planned despite the downtown work, according to Nicholasville Now Director Tonya Coleman. “The parade will be Saturday at 10 a.m., and the theme for the parade is Headed to the Future,” she said. “We would like the floats to go along with the theme.” The downtown work should not interfere with the parade and other events, Coleman said.
