Danville's volleyball team dropped a 25-9, 25-8 decision to Lincoln County Monday night at Stanford. Chelsea Knudsen and Riana Watson each had a kill for Danville (0-2) against Lincoln (4-7), and Courtney Cline had an ace. "They had several aces and kills that put us behind the 8-ball early. Although they didn't give up, we had trouble with communication and moving our feet," Danville coach Scott Johnson said. "But for our second varsity match, I was proud. Heading into Friday night’s game against Tates Creek, many didn’t think that West Jessamine had the talent to hang with the Lexington team that was boasting a 4-0 record. West’s four wins had been made up of teams like Paris and Madison Southern, which have a combined record of 0-11, and really hadn’t been tested yet. Friday night, the Colts turned all those doubters into believers with a dominating 34-14 win over the Commodores. “All week, we talked about how confident we were coming into this game,” West coach Graham Heasley said.
