The Athletics remained undefeated following a 6-3 win over the Tigers in Major League action Tuesday night at Lykins Park. The Red Sox overcame the Yankees 6-1 and the Redwings dealt the Timber Rattlers a 9-5 loss in the Minor League. In other games, the Red Sox defeated the White Sox 5-4 and the Dodgers beat the Braves 11-10 in the Rookie League. The Cubs came away with a 17-7 victory over the White Sox in Little League Softball. Major League A's 6, Tigers 3 The A's broke a 3-3 deadlock with a three-run outburst in the seventh inning to hold off the Tigers.

One of the nation's top circuses was in Wilmore on Monday, featuring a cast and crew of over 200 people. The Carson and Barnes big tent was set up on the Ichthus festival grounds where clowns, acrobats, gymnasts, jugglers and trained animals, including five elephants, two tigers and two lions, performed in several show rings simultaneously. The production had a distinct international appeal, with acts from Ukraine, Belarus, Peru, Mexico, Italy and the Netherlands, in addition to the United States.

LEXINGTON - Rasheem Barrett had a message for Jodie Meeks. "During warm-ups, I told him, 'look, I love you, but you're not going to score 30, 40 or 50 points on us - I know,'" he said afterward. Meeks didn't shatter his own scoring mark of 54 points, but did drop 31 on the Tigers in Kentucky's 73-64 triumph over the Tigers, smiled after he received the message from Barrett. "I just kind of laughed," Meeks said. On a serious note, Meeks and Barrett are close friends and have been since high school.
