STANFORD - A Lincoln County man and his daughter were airlifted with unknown injuries after a car flipped upside down north of Stanford Sunday night. Doug Rayborn was driving his vehicle east on U.S. 150 around 6:45 p.m. when the wreck happened just outside Stanford city limits. Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff Ryan Kirkpatrick said Rayborn's vehicle traveled out of its lane and dropped off the left shoulder of the road "for an undetermined reason. " "It went into a 180-degree slide, hitting a culvert, which caused the vehicle to flip onto its roof," Kirkpatrick said.

Authorities are trying to determine the identity of the driver who died in a fiery crash early Saturday morning on the north U.S. 127 Bypass just north of Maple Avenue. Boyle County Coroner Don Hamner said Saturday afternoon that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was a white male, but there was little else to go on because the body was so badly burned. It might be a day or two before the body can be ID'd using DNA or dental evidence, he said. A license plate from the car, a Chevy Impala circa 2006, was recovered from a fence row near the crash scene, Hamner said.

Teens and others in town are not waiting for an official identification to begin grieving the death of a driver who died Saturday morning in a fiery car crash in Danville. Messages of sadness and loss are already posted on Facebook, and kids in town are comforting each other, reeling from the shock. Boyle County Coroner Don Hamner said it may take a few days to identify the driver, a white male, who was the sole occupant of a vehicle involved in the crash fatality. DNA likely will be used for identification, he said, to confirm what police may have learned from a license plate that was recovered from the fence at the scene.

FRANKFORT - More than 22,000 Kentuckians are diagnosed with cancer each year, and nearly 10,000 Kentuckians die from the dreaded affliction. It is a terrible human toll, but one that can be reduced through early detection and treatment. The Senate passed two bills last week aimed at making sure every Kentuckian is able to get the tests and treatment they need for some of the most common and deadly forms of cancer. Senate Bill 96 would require all health insurance plans to cover colorectal screenings for those over 50, as well as anyone at increased risk.
