Winchester Sylvania's UAW retirees met at the Union Hall Tuesday, April 10, for their monthly meeting. Following the meeting, the group traveled to the Taste of China for lunch. Attending the lunch were members Lenora Adams, Virginia Combs, Mae Epperson, Faye Hubbard, Faye Hulette, Rose Keller, Sally McVey, Sallie Moberly, Garnetta Parker, Lovern Rogers, Brenda Woods, and guests McKinley Miller, Hermel Pitts, and Jon Vickery. The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, May 8, at the Union Hall on Bloomfield Road with lunch afterward at Rafferty's on Man-o-War.

UAW retirees to meet Winchester Sylvania/Osram UAW Local 1708 retirees will conduct their September meeting Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Union Hall on Bloomfield Road. Following the meeting, members will travel to Ryan's Steakhouse in Richmond for lunch.

The Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW retirees met briefly Tuesday, Oct. 11 at the Union Hall.   Following the meeting, members and guests traveled to Johnny Carino's in Lexington for lunch. Enjoying lunch and conversation were members Lenora Adams, Mae Epperson, Faye Hulette and Rose Keller, and guests Debbie Brewer, McKinley Miller and Jon Vickery. The November meeting will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the Union Hall with the group traveling to Irvine for lunch at Cedar Village.

The OSRAM, GTE, Sylvania UAW Retirees met Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Union Hall on North Bloomfield Road. Following the meeting the group had lunch at The Steak House on West Lexington Avenue. Present were Sally McVey, Fay Hubbard, Lovern Rogers, Garnetta Parker, Lenora Adams, Brenda Wood, Jon Vickery, Betty Brooks, Mary Lou Dinsmore, Mae Epperson, Salley Moberly, Wilma and William Standafer, McKennley Miller and Mae Epperson.

- The Little Women Homemakers Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the home of Frances Robinson, 207 Delplain. - The Sylvania GTE/UAW Retirees met March 15 at the Union Hall on North Bloomfield Road. The group was dismissed with a benediction by Lovern Rogers and left for lunch at Applebee's. Present were McKenley Miller, Mary Lou Dinsmore, Jon Vickery, Virgina Combs, Garnetta Parker, Betty King, Barbara Elkins, Betty Brooks, Faye Hulette, Salley Moberly, Mae Epperson, Fay Hubbad and Rogers.

TODAY - AARP tax preparation, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Central Baptist Church Annex, 101 W. Lexington Ave. The service is free and all pertinent paperwork should be brought. Counselors are trained through a program sponsored by the AARP and the IRS. - Winchester GTE-Sylvania-Osram-UAW retirees meeting, 10:30 a.m. at the Union Hall on Bloomfield Road. Lunch will follow at Garden Girls Cafe on Lexington Road. All Sylvania retirees and former employees are welcome at lunch. - Strode Station site-based council special-called meeting at 4 p.m. in the school library.
