My Grandma Gail and I always have had a strong connection. Our favorite color is yellow, we love red meat, and we live to bake. Although I spent a fair amount of time shuffling my pink cowgirl boots across the prairie, I was the only grandchild who truly enjoyed baking and eating as much as she did. Not much has changed.

For the cakes, she uses a bought mix, and prefers Duncan Hines. She discovered the icing recipe on the back of a Hershey's Cocoa can while she was in graduate school.
