William Bruce Christy, IV, the son of Marilyn Rector of Waynesburg and William B. Christy, III of Danville, was born Saturday, April 5 at the Fort Logan Hospital at 12:31 p.m. He weighed 6 pounds 9.4 ounces and measured 20 inches at birth. Maternal grandparents are Vina and Thomas Rector, Jr., of Waynesburg. Paternal grandparents are Sherry Christy of Allen Park, Mich., and William Bruce Christy, Jr., of West Chester, Pa. Great grandparents are Ruth Rector of Waynesburg, Irene Christy of West Chester, Pa., and Doris and Bob Williams of Allen Park, Mich.

Leonard C. Ruckel, 73, of KY Hwy 328 West,  Eubank, passed away Friday, April 5, at his residence.  Born Friday, May 5, 1939, in Pulaski County, Leonard was a son of the late Henry and Ruby Spaw Ruckel. He was a farmer and member of Polly Ann Baptist Church.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Ruckel.  Survivors include his wife,  Emma Ruckel, whom he wed on Sept. 23, 1961; three sons, Tony (Denise) Ruckel of Somerset and Jeff (Anna)  and Doug (Alisa)

William M. Moore, 74, of Nelson Valley Road, Science Hill, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. A native of Ansel, he was born Feb. 12, 1934, to the late Edgar D. and Opal Oveline Campbell Moore. He was a truck driver for McLean Trucking Company, retired long distance mail hauler, member of Teamster Union Local #100 and Socialville Baptist Church in Mason, Ohio for 21 years where he was a trustee, usher and member of the choir and the men's prayer group.

Mafre Louise Dick Eldridge, 89, of Somerset, died Friday, Jan. 9 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. A native of Casey County, she was born Feb. 2, 1919, to the late Ephraim Oliver and Ibbie Wesley Dick. She was a lifelong member of Science Hill United Methodist Church, where she served as church treasurer for more than 25 years, member and past president of the Science Hill Garden Club, involved with the Ladies Auxiliary of Gideons International, and widow of Barnett Eldridge.

Kenneth M. Cook, 73, of Wexford Drive, Monroe, OH., formerly of Waynesburg; died Friday, Feb. 3 at his home. A native of Blue Diamond, he was born Jan. 23, 1933 to the late Condy Cook and Leura Robinson Cook. He was employed by the Transportation Department for ARMCO Steel and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Alice Willena Smallwood Cook; one son, Kelly R. Cook, Midddletown, OH.; one daughter, Connie (Daniel) Duell of West Chester, OH.; one brother, Condy (Nancy)

Ida Zella Young, 94, of Pewee Valley, formerly of Stanford, died Thursday, July 10. A native of Lincoln County, she was born Sunday, March 29, 1914 to the late Hiram and Sally Hutchinson Young. She was a homemaker, a member of the Green River Pentecostal Church, and the widow of Maynis Harlan Young. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Sterling G. Young; and sisters, Roxie Reed, Louanna Sizemore, Josephine Gourley, and Stella Jenkins. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy (John)

One of Boyle County's biggest industrial employers could be closing its doors and moving its workforce to Ohio, a move that could cost Danville more than 240 jobs. Intelligrated, an Ohio-based company that owns FKI Logistex, is planning to shut down its Lebanon Road factory and consolidate its workforce at its two Ohio plants. Intelligrated announced on Tuesday that it has accepted a $24-million financial incentive package from the state of Ohio that will allow it to retain 537 jobs and add 267 new ones at its Ohio facilities.

Eugene Albert "Buddy� Pruitt, 72, of Lancaster, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Sunday, Feb. 5 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. A native of Crab Orchard, he was born March 17, 1933 to the late Marion C. and Rhoda Mae Wallin Pruitt. He was a former employee of Cherokee Sales and a member of Westland Christian Church in Arlington Heights, OH. He was also preceded in death by a brother of Claude Pruitt. Survivors include one son, Kirby Pruitt of Lancaster; one brother, Freddie Ray Pruitt, Hamilton, OH.; three sisters, Laura Frances Hopkins of Cincinnati, OH., Mary Ellen Lay of West Chester, OH., and Martha Ann Curtsinger of Orlando, FL.; and one granddaughter, Tiffany Jo Pruitt of Lancaster.

Mitchell R. Playforth, 60, of Sutton Lane, Lancaster, died Sunday, Feb. 5 at his home. A native of Lincoln Co., he was born Oct. 23, 1945 to the late Henry Otis Playforth and Tina Nichols Playforth. He was a deputy PVA for Garrard County, retired from IBM after 30 years, and a member of Maple Avenue Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Playforth. Survivors include his wife, Diane Davidson Playforth of Lancaster; one daughter, Tammy (Robert)

Kyle Meadows know plenty about Kentucky's most recent verbal commitment, running back Mikel Horton. Meadows, an offensive lineman who signed with Kentucky in February, blocked for Horton last season at West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West, where Horton rushed for 1,003 yards and 13 touchdowns. Horton, a 6-1, 230-pound junior, ranks among the nation's top running backs and had scholarship offers from Florida State, Arkansas, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Purdue, Indiana, Minnesota, Kent State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Toledo, Western Michigan and Miami (Ohio)

Jessie Lawrence Barnett, Sr., 77, of Maywood Circle, Stanford, died Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. A native of the Betsy Community in Wayne County, he was born Monday, Nov. 24, 1930 to the late Luke Barnett and Ida Zella Young. He was a retired sewing machine mechanic having worked for Hayes Garment Co., Cowden's and Creative Draperies, was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Caswell-Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. He attended the Green River Pentecostal Church, enjoyed making wooden vehicles, collecting die cast cars, and NASCAR racing, and was the widower of Anna Lowe Barnett.
