The Lincoln County track and field teams did not shy away from competition this past Saturday, going up against some of the top athletes in the area in the Lake Cumberland Classic Invitational at Somerset High School. With many of the younger and newer team members still working on their times and distances Lincoln did not put up a lot of points, however, the Lady Patriot and Patriot veterans, and one newcomer, did come through to get the Lincoln scoring. Sydney Harris, a newcomer to the Lincoln girls team, fared exceptionally well in her first meet by winning the high jump field event. The LCHS senior won the event by clearing 4-08.

Lincoln coach Cassandra McWhorter said the loss, which snapped a seven-game win streak, was just 'ugly.' “It was ugly start to finish,” she said. “Give Woodford County credit.
